ALMA MATER FOOTWEAR UNVEILS FIRST-EVER GOLF SHOE

March 23, 2025

Luxury sneaker company releases the Beta at THE PRO in Texas

LOS ANGELES – Alma Mater Footwear, a luxury sneaker company and official footwear partner of THE PRO, unveiled the Beta, its first golf shoe, during an event at THE PRO FTB in PGA Frisco in Texas. Available onsite at THE PRO FTB this week, the Beta will be available nationally at Alma Mater’s website on May 1, 2025.

Alma Mater’s collection of high-end footwear is designed in California, drawn from years of experience crafting some of the most technical, functional and luxurious shoes in the industry. The launch of the Beta represents a new era for the luxury sneaker brand known for combining quality, style, innovation and craftsmanship.

The company is a partner of THE PRO, a new golf series featuring professional athletes from across the world of sports. In December, Alma Mater tested prototypes of its golf shoe at THE PRO CUP with various athletes participating in the inaugural event at Innisbrook Resort in Tampa, Fl. At each upcoming tournament for THE PRO, new styles of the Beta will be released, further connecting Alma Mater with the emerging golf series.

“Seeing the positive response of the athletes at THE PRO CUP was incredibly affirming, letting us know that we could integrate some of the technology and innovation from our existing line into the world of golf footwear,” said Eric Sarin, the co-founder of Alma Mater. “We wanted to design a shoe that not only performed well on the course, providing stability, control and comfort, but also exuded the luxurious, fashionable style that Alma Mater has come to be known for. The Beta is the realization of that vision, and we’re excited to introduce it to golfers of all stripes.”

The Beta features a nitrogen-infused supercritical foam midsole which delivers exceptional energy return, lightweight cushioning and long-lasting responsiveness, ensuring it can hold up to the wear and tear of multiple rounds. The Floating Fit System™ is an engineered knit interior with purpose-designed padding and breathability that locks in the ankle to improve comfort and fit, while reducing friction and blisters.

A water-resistant upper keeps feet dry, while Alma Mater’s Shark-Tooth™ Activated Traction™ is an adaptive outsole grip that enhances stability and control.

Available in two styles, the Beta Longwing and Beta Light, the new golf shoes are engineered to elevate performance, deliver unparalleled comfort and eliminate fatigue. The Beta Classic features premium leather and a nubuck longwing for a durable, timeless look, while the Beta Lite sports a technical nylon upper for a more athletic look and feel.

The Beta retails for $288 and will be available at almamaterfootwear.com this spring.
