That’s a Wrap! aG Announces Final Week’s Winner of Alpha Home Tour
Week Eight was our Final Round for a $1000 USD Win!
SEATTLE – At aboutGolf (aG) we’ve been as bored at home as you and your families. With our aG Alpha Home Tour, we set out to cure the stay-at-home blues with a full eight-week tour and eight $1000 USD prizes for closest-to-the-pin of each hole. This competition has been really fun for aG simulator owners, and eight players are now $1000 USD richer! Most importantly, every participant had a chance to improve his or her game to prepare for courses reopening and returning to the green.
Our final week of the tour at Teeth of the Dog Golf Course in the Dominican Republic saw steady participation with 57 golfers from 34 locations vying for the $1,000 USD prize. Hole five of this course reminds us of the warning that this course is all bite and no bark. The green is angled away from the tee, framed by large trees, and partially surrounded by the ocean. Chelsea Acree edged out the competition with a beautiful shot that landed 2.53 feet from the pin. Congratulations, Chelsea! Here’s a look at the hole she shot: https://vimeo.com/417377134
Week seven’s winner is no slouch either, playing in nearly every round of late. Steve Naab, or “Snaab” came back from an earlier second place win to a win at Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill in last week’s round seven.
Here is Steve swinging on his aG simulator:
Steve had a lot to say about this shot, and he brings home what aG simulation means for golfers everywhere who want to practice and compete at home – particularly in these challenging times:
“Being unable to get out on the course this spring the aG Alpha Home Tour gave a specific, challenging goal to hit it as close as possible. Is the shot a hard 8 or a cut 7? What happens if I try a different trajectory? Just like on course, each shot mattered and the pressure was on. No longer was a good shot enough, unless each shot was super close, I had to go back and practice more, trying to hole out each and every time.” – Steven Naab
