American Cancer Society to Host Annual Fundraiser at Ocean Course at Hōkūala
‘Rock the Range’ Scheduled for October 27th
The American Cancer Society announces it will host its second annual fundraiser “Whiskey & Tee” for the not-for-profit at the Ocean Course at Hōkūala Oct. 27 from 4 – 6:30 p.m. The facility’s “Rock the Range” event will consist of live music, food, specialty beverage tastings and games.
“There is always an overwhelming amount of support for our breast cancer survivors and our efforts to attack cancer from every angle,” states Patti Ornellas, senior community development manager for the American Cancer Society. She adds, “We have already sold six lounges to island businesses, and people are excited for this new event format at the beautiful Ocean Course! The great part is that you don’t have to be a golfer to experience this wonderful event – it’s more about the socializing, the camaraderie, and of course, to raise awareness about breast cancer.”
“Rock the Range” is a public event (must be 21 years or older) and allows for organizations to host a fundraiser in a social environment with live music, DJ, food and libations. The Ocean Course’s PGA Head Golf Professional, Kellie Hines, will have fun games for participants that include golf target games, FootGolf, Jan-ken-po and more!
Businesses can purchase a “lounge” for $750 (limited to eight lounges) which includes entrance for up to ten guests, sponsor signage and special seating areas. Individual tickets may also be purchased for $50 in advance or $60 at the door (per person). These funds go directly to charity. For ticket information, please call 808.635.6956.
The Ocean Course’s list of accolades is as long as its stretch of holes that overlook Nawiliwili Bay and the Pacific Ocean and will serve as a great location for the second annual event to raise money and awareness for breast cancer during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Recent facility awards include:
- 2019 “Top 200 Courses Nationwide” – Golfweek
- 2018 “Best-In-State, #11 in Hawai‘i” – Golfweek
- 2018 “Hawai‘i’s Best Golf Course” – World Golf Awards

The Ocean Course is part of Timbers Kaua‘i Ocean Club & Residences, a new private residential club which opened June 1, 2018 on the island’s picturesque southeast coast. Timbers Kaua‘i sits on a 450-acre natural amphitheater which offers unobstructed views of the Pacific Ocean and Haupu mountain range. The Hōkūala experience revolves around its idyllic setting with tennis, hiking, biking, beach activities, mountain adventures, world-class dining and golf.
