It’s official! The 2023 Asia Pacific Golf Summit and the 2023 Asia Pacific Golf Expo, together with the 2023 Asian Golf Awards will be hosted by the Chinese city of Sanya in the tropical island of Hainan, China.
The decision to stage Asia’s longest running summit on the business of golf was announced today by the joint organisers of APGS 2023 – ASIAN GOLF and AIT Events Co., Ltd.
The staging of APGS 2023, the Asia Pacific Golf Expo and the 2023 Asian Golf Awards is a collaboration of two of the foremost organisations in Asia behind golf conferences and golf exhibitions.
“We have spent the last few months planning on a structure for the three events and we are pleased to declare that what has been planned promises to be the biggest and the best shows for the golf industry in the Asia Pacific,” said Mike Sebastian, Chief Executive Officer of ASIAN GOLF.
“The staging of the three events was a strategic decision as we wanted to find a venue that would serve as a central hub for golf in the Asia Pacific and Hainan was a perfect choice because of its central positioning relative the countries in the region,” said Frank Xu, President of AIT Events Co., Ltd.
The venue for the three events is the plush, five-star Mangrove Resort Hotel and the dates are November 2 to November 4, 2023.
“The Mangrove Resort which commands a stunning beach front was selected because we feel that it has all the facilities and trimmings that come together for the staging of truly world class Events,” explained Xu.
APGS 2023 will mark the fifteenth staging of this internationally recognised conference and it has been widely regarded as being one of the best summits of its kind in the world.
The Asia Pacific Golf Expo has its own pedigree in that it follows in the footsteps of the Beijing Golf Show which was the biggest golf exhibition in Asia for many years. “We bring our experience and knowledge in organising large golf trade shows and we are confident this will ensure that the Asia Pacific Golf Expo will be a big success,” said Xu, who was the founder of the Beijing Golf Show.
APGS 2023 has adopted a new format built around the concept of town hall debates. According to Sebastian, “We want APGS 2023 to set a new trend, one that guarantees audience participation and as such, the Summit will be programmed into eight specific modules that will look at key operational aspects of the golf club industry.”
“We are at the stage where changes are taking place at all levels of club management and given this scenario, we plan to provide the golf club industry with a platform for it to prepare for the many changes that are already happening and future developments – APGS 2023 will be a game changer!” emphasised Sebastian.
