Presenter: Dan Homan, CEO, Canadian Retail Solutions Inc.

Description: Buying cadence, inventory flow, and member engagement strategies that work!                 Seasonal golf retail is unforgiving! Nostalgia Notes in Retail

Date: Wednesday, April 29, 2026

Time: 4:00 PM EST / 1:00 PM PST

Presenters: The Retail Duo: Karen Kritzer and Diane Spiridoulias

Description: “Nostalgia is a file that removes the rough edges from the good old days.” A print on a fabric swatch. A tile we are selecting for a client. That lighting fixture in a showroom. A song plays on our playlist… Nostalgia has that special way of making us smile and feel good! In today’s market the role of nostalgia, when done right, can help with the bottom line.

People are said to experience feelings of nostalgia once a week, or even up to three or four times during that same week. This session is a way of helping you to step back and take a trip down memory lane, when perhaps things seemed a bit simpler. Nostalgia functions in different ways in the space of the retail environment. The space of the retail environment is the only place where the consumer has the chance to make their longings of transforming themselves into creatures of the past, future or present, a reality.

Key Takeaways:

  • Explore how nostalgia influences consumer behavior and drives purchasing decisions
  • Discover creative ways to evoke emotional connections through nostalgic elements in retail
  • Understand how nostalgia can strengthen your shop’s atmosphere and bottom line
