Dallas, Texas – The All Pro Tour, a professional golf tour serving as a path to the PGA TOUR, will be heading to Alexandria, Louisiana for the Coke Dr. Pepper Open. The 4-day tournament will feature an estimated field of 200 PGA TOUR-bound hopefuls competing at the beautiful Oakwing Golf Club and Links on the Bayou.

“For 19 years, Alexandria has played host to the All Pro Tour,” said Gary Deserrano, president of the APT. It is one of the longest-running events and for good reason. The food and hospitality are second to none and the timing of the event provides one of the strongest fields and largest purses on Tour. The best part about the tournament is the money raised for our charitable partner, the Manna House.”

The Coke Dr. Pepper Open is scheduled for March 9-12, 2022. The week will include a shootout, pro-am, parties and a 72-hole championship concluding on Saturday, March 12th. This tournament will kick-off the 2022 season of the APT Tour and will house the largest purse and field size of the year. The purse is expected to be $162,500 with the tournament champion taking home $31,000.

“We’re excited to host our 19th Annual Coke Dr. Pepper Open,” said Theresa Slater, Tournament Director of the Coke Dr. Pepper Open. “I have chaired the tournament since its inception and the majority of our community sponsors, volunteers and host families have been involved as well.”

Not only will this be monumental for the tour and for the city of Alexandria, but this tournament focuses heavily on local charitable causes. This year’s proceeds will go towards the Manna House, a kitchen providing hot meals for those in need or anyone who wishes to be served.

“It’s a win-win for our community since the proceeds from the tournament benefits the Manna House which feeds the needy and hungry in our community 365 days a year!”

Admission is free for practice rounds and tournament-play spectatorship. To participate in the pro-am tournament, become a sponsor, or to volunteer, please contact Theresa Slater at theresa.slater@att.net.

About the Manna House

Manna House is a place where people of all ages and all walks of life receive a hot, nutritious meal served 365 days a year in a clean, welcoming environment. Many of the people who come to Manna House are either homeless or living on very meager earnings. However, anyone who comes to Manna House is welcome to eat. There is no fee. No ID is required. No questions are asked. An average of 230 people — men, women, and children — are fed each day. Manna House is a community volunteer effort that does not receive government funding of any kind. It exists because people from near and far contribute funds to keep the ministry operating. Individuals in the community give monetary donations. School children and civic organizations conduct canned food drives to supplement the pantry. Businesses donate surplus foods. All workers are volunteers except for three paid employees. “We are fortunate to have two outstanding cooks who are not only expert chefs, but have the knack of making the best use of foods available and without waste,” said Fr. Gerard Foley, founder of Manna House. “We don’t waste anything around here!”
