(Houston, TX) Golfcrest Country Club in Pearland, Texas has been confirmed as the host venue for the Aramco Houston Championship. The tournament will take place from 5-7 September, bringing elite international golf to the world-class course just south of downtown Houston.
The decision to stage the penultimate event in this season’s PIF Global Series in Houston represents a strategic choice for Golf Saudi, aligning with its ambition to connect with one of the most vibrant and diverse golfing communities in the United States.
As a city with a rich sporting heritage, a rapidly growing golf market, and deep cultural and commercial ties to Saudi Arabia, Houston provides the ideal platform to showcase Golf Saudi’s commitment to expanding the game globally.
It also aligns with the broader strategy to attract future investment opportunities through initiatives like the FII Institute’s Elevated Green discussion panels with key C-suite speakers and thought leaders staged during tournament week.
Golfcrest Country Club’s world-class facilities and welcoming environment create the perfect stage for engaging with new audiences, fostering international connections, and highlighting the shared values of innovation, inclusivity, and sporting excellence that underpin Golf Saudi’s mission.
The event is the penultimate stop on the newly launched PIF Global Series on the Ladies European Tour (LET) – a forward-thinking initiative designed to accelerate the growth of women’s golf worldwide. Backed by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), the series aims to strengthen the women’s professional game by delivering world-class events, increasing playing opportunities, and showcasing talent across key international markets.
It will be the first time the PIF Global Series has set foot in the Lone Star State with the previous visit to the United States being in Florida for the Aramco Team Series Presented by PIF – Tampa.
“Hosting the Aramco Houston Championship is a landmark moment for Golfcrest Country Club,” said Rene Rangel, General Manager of Golfcrest Country Club. “Our course was built to challenge elite players, and we’re excited to see it take centre stage on the international calendar. Being part of the PIF Global Series on the Ladies European Tour places Golfcrest among a select group of world-class venues, and we look forward to delivering a championship experience worthy of that distinction.”
Golfcrest Country Club is one of the Houston area’s most respected private clubs, known for its championship pedigree, pristine course conditions, and challenging yet fair layout. With fast greens, mature fairways, and natural water features, it delivers a true test of golf in a refined setting.
“Aramco has a long-standing relationship with the city of Houston, and we are excited to bring the Aramco Houston Championship to our home in the US,” said Rania Biltagi, Aramco Global Head of Partnerships. “From cutting edge R&D facilities, innovative research partnerships, and impactful community initiatives, we have been active partners in Houston and the US for over 50 years. We are therefore proud to extend this spirit of collaboration to support the growth of women’s golf and inspire the next generation of women golfers.”
The Aramco Houston Championship underscores event organiser Golf Saudi’s commitment to taking the very best women golfers to new markets and new destinations to strengthen the sport’s ecosystem globally. After hugely successful tournaments in Saudi Arabia, Korea and England the Saudi Golf Federation not only provides world-class playing opportunities for the very best, it also elevates the sport through several engaging on-site activities for players of all abilities and ages. Golf Saudi’s strategic leadership highlights the playing and career opportunities possible in the sport as well as showcasing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a leading global golf, tourism and investment destination.
A stunning line-up of Golf Saudi ambassadors will be in the field, including world No 18 Celine Boutier as well as Anne Van Dam from the Netherlands, Spain’s Carlota Ciganda and home favorite Danielle Kang.
