ARCIS GOLF CONTINUES SUPPORT OF U.S. ADAPTIVE GOLF ALLIANCE
Facilities, staff and membership help provide playing opportunities for athletes with disabilities
DALLAS – Arcis Golf has renewed its support of the United States Adaptive Golf Alliance, starting the new year with support that allowed the USAGA to conduct a successful outreach campaign at the 2019 PGA Show in Orlando, Fla., and will continue to provide resources at select Arcis Golf facilities around the country.
Based in Burr Ridge, Ill., the USAGA is a national coalition of 36 adaptive golf organizations with common goals and objectives, promoting and providing resources for athletes with disabilities nationwide. Last year, its member organizations provided adaptive golf to 20,000+ individuals across the country.
Arcis provides adaptive golf programs access to golf courses and PGA professionals within the Arcis Golf portfolio and helps develop fundraising opportunities through Arcis Golf members nationwide.
“Part of our company’s mission is to align with organizations that give back to our communities through golf,” said Blake Walker, founder and CEO of Dallas-based Arcis Golf. “The United States Adaptive Golf Association is an ideal partner that helps bring more people to the game of golf, as well as bring the game of golf to them.”
In 2019, Arcis Golf facilities will host adaptive golf clinics, as well as seminars on disabled golf. This year’s USAGA Open Championship is to be played at one of Arcis Golf’s premier courses, Desert Pines Golf Club in Las Vegas, Oct. 7-10.
“Arcis Golf’s investment in USAGA gives these organizations a platform to build the connections necessary to continue to serve their communities,” Walker said.
“Attending the PGA Show, to present disabled golf in a whole new light to the golf industry, has been invaluable and could not have been possible without the support of Arcis Golf the past two years,” said Mark Johnson, the Director of Advancement for the USAGA. “There are 20 million physically disabled people in the United States who want to play golf, and with the support of Arcis Golf, this is becoming a reality,” Johnson added.
Last summer Arcis Golf initiated a series of 50 adaptive golf lessons at Ruffled Feathers Golf Club in Lemont, Ill., near Chicago, and this summer Ruffled Feathers will host “Para-Golf days” to deliver an adaptive golf experience for children with disabilities. Ruffled Feathers GC partners with the Chicago-based Freedom Golf Association, which provided more than 6,700 golf lessons for para-golfers last year.
“Arcis Golf is proud to offer quality experiences, both on and off the course, on a daily basis to a broad spectrum of golfers, of all abilities and disabilities,” said Chris Crocker, Chief Marketing Officer, Arcis Golf. “And we are thrilled that so many Arcis Golf club members have joined us at our various adaptive golf training programs around the country to learn about teaching others with disabilities.”
In less than five years, Arcis Golf has skyrocketed from a small start-up to the second-largest owner and operator of private, resort, and daily-fee clubs in the United States. The company’s portfolio features nearly 60 clubs and golf courses in 15 states, positioned in or near major metropolitan areas from coast-to-coast.
