College Teams to Compete, Network, and Explore Career Opportunities, Feb 21 – 23

DALLAS – The third annual Arcis-HBCU Golf Championship takes place Saturday, Feb. 21 to Monday, Feb. 23, at The Club at Weston Hills in Weston, Fla., owned and operated by Arcis Golf, the owner and operator of 88 private, resort, and daily fee golf clubs in the United States. The tournament brings together 17 men’s and women’s teams from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) to compete over 54 holes, offering student-athletes’ opportunities to compete, network, and explore career paths.

The 95-player field (seven women’s teams, 12 men’s teams) will include 2025 champions Florida A&M University (men’s Div. I), Livingstone College (men’s Div. II), and Howard University (women’s).

Other participating schools include Chicago State University, Southern University, Texas Southern University, Prairie View A&M University, Delaware State University, Virginia State University, North Carolina A&T State University, North Carolina Central University, Winston-Salem State University, Johnson C. Smith University, Alabama A&M University, Miles College, Savannah State University, and Alabama State University.

Schedule of Events

The three-day event includes receptions and dinners, a career expo, numerous learning and networking opportunities, and the College Alumni and Divine 9 Golf Challenge for adults. Chefs from several Arcis Golf facilities will be on-site to showcase their culinary talents for the competitors, guests, and invited dignitaries.

Saturday, Feb. 21. Arcis Golf will instruct a “Club-in-Hand Golf Clinic” for first-time golfers.  This grow-the-game national program engages young people who have never played golf and will be held in conjunction with the Rita & Rick Case Boys & Girls Club of Broward County (11:30 am to 1:30 pm ET). Participants will learn how to drive, chip, and putt under the tutelage of three PGA professionals from the South Florida PGA Section: Sean Kicker, Lucas Cohen, and Steve Voguit. Additionally, participants will be able to watch the collegiate action.

The championship’s first 18-hole round tees off at 8 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 22 on The Players Course, one of two 18-hole golf courses at the club created by world-renowned designer Robert Trent Jones, Jr.  The Club at Weston Hills is the former home of the Honda Classic and the LPGA’s Chrysler Plymouth Tournament of Champions. The second round will be played Sunday afternoon, with the final round teeing off at 8 a.m. Monday, Feb. 23, followed by an awards ceremony.

Sunday, Feb. 22 and Monday, Feb. 23. The College Alumni and Divine Nine Challenge, featuring participating college alumni and members from black sororities and fraternities, sports and entertainment celebrities, begins with a Sunday reception, sponsored by Flecha Azul Tequila. The friendly challenge for alumni and guests tees off on Monday on The Club at Weston Hills’ Tour Course. There are still spots available in this limited-field event ($400 per person). Interested parties should contact Linnet Carty at LCarty@arcisgolf.com.

“Through this championship and its networking events, participants gain competitive experience and valuable insights into the industry, the business of golf, and personal growth,” said Blake Walker, Founder, Chairman, and CEO, Arcis Golf. “The lessons learned here extend far beyond the course, opening doors to new opportunities and inspiring lasting change.”

Sponsorship Support and Concurrent Events

In addition to its title sponsorship, Arcis Golf is joined by presenting sponsor PepsiCo, as well as Ahead, AJGA, Bridgeforth Cotton, Estee Lauder, EZ-GO, Flecha Azul Tequila, Golf Galaxy, Golf Genius, LPGA, Malbon Golf, Nextera Foundation, OTGC, Renegade Golf, Syngenta, Toro, USGA, and Winners Awards.

Linnet Carty, Arcis Golf’s Senior Director of Community Engagement, commented, “By adhering to a proactive approach, creating avenues for success, offering access to career opportunities, Arcis Golf leads the way and establishes a robust foundation for growth.”

In addition to the Arcis-HBCU Championship, the Arcis Boys and Girls Club Golf Clinics across the country, and career events, Arcis Golf provides HBCU student-athletes with complimentary access to clubs within its network to practice and hone their skills. This ensures they have dedicated places to practice and play beyond the tournament schedule and/or their collegiate home courses.

The Arcis-HBCU Golf Championship is one of the numerous ways Arcis Golf supports national philanthropic organizations, including Els for Autism Foundation, United States Adaptive Golf Alliance, Love Hope Strength Foundation, and Women In Golf Foundation, as well as many local charities in the communities it serves.
