GolfCritique.com is excited to announce the launch of the Epic Golf Tour. A new team amateur golf tour for adults 21 & older that is designed to make golf more enjoyable by creating an environment where 4-person teams compete in a season long points race to earn a spot into one of our Regional Championships. Once there, teams will compete for a spot in our National Championship in Scottsdale, Arizona at the amazing Talking Stick Resort, November 6th-9th, 2021.
Our tour combines individual stroke play with a team element, taking the best 3 out of 4 scores to make a team score. Teams will compete against other teams from around the state & region to earn prizes and points. Top 40 teams in points in each region will qualify for our Regional Championships. Once at regionals, all teams will go against the field to grab 1 of 6 qualifying spots for our National Championship!
Teams can be made up of men and/or women and each player will tee off from their assigned tees. We do not have handicaps, divisions, flights, mulligans or gimmies. Just stiff competition the way it’s supposed to be, and golf the ways it’s meant to be played. (Age + Handicap Index = 59 & under)
Average Yardage: 6500+
Phalanx Tee
(Age + Handicap Index = 60+)
Average Yardage: 6200
Hoplite Tee
(Age + Handicap Index = 70+):
Average Yardage: 5800
Shieldmaiden Tee
(All Ladies)
Average Yardage: 5400
Pay out to the top 3 teams
(prize pool is contingent on field size)
Optional “Skins Game” at each tournament
All teams will earn points towards regional playoffs.
Teams choose how many events to play based on team standings.
If team plays more than 6 events, the top 6 finishes will count as the team’s points total to qualify for the Playoffs.
