Scottsdale, Ariz. – Arnaldo Cocuzza, CCM, has been named Director of Athletics & Sonoran Clubhouse, it was announced by Damon DiOrio, CEO, Desert Mountain Club.
Cocuzza, one of the first certified club managers in Europe (CCM), brings extensive leadership skills, energy, and significant private club experience to Desert Mountain. Originally from Nettuno, Italy (outside of Rome), Cocuzza was a club general manager for 15+ years before coming to the United States. He served as Chairman of the Club Managers Association of Europe, representing all golf and country clubs in continental Europe.
“We are thrilled to have Arnaldo join our Desert Mountain family,” said DiOrio. “His vast leadership and operational experience is perfectly matched to our physically-active, exercise-centric community.”
Most recently, Cocuzza and his family lived in Rockville, Maryland where he managed clubhouse operations at Woodmont Country Club. He previously served as Director of Operations at Charlotte Country Club where he led a large team of employees for this U.S. top-10 rated country club.
Cocuzza will oversee operation of the expansive, 42,000-square-foot Sonoran Clubhouse and The Ranch, the community’s 33-acre, wilderness amenity, and staff. The beautifully designed clubhouse offers fitness, personal training, and physical therapy all within a modern, airy setting. Personal training and physical therapy are available, as are pools, nine tennis courts, pickleball facility, croquet lawn, and the Sonoran Café. The state-of-the-art Sonoran Spa, with full salon, body treatments and facials, is another element of this on-site amenity. The Ranch includes horseback riding and stables, glamping, and 20+ miles of private hiking trails.
