AGM is looking for students with a passion for golf merchandising.
Phoenix, AZ – The Association of Golf Merchandisers (AGM) announces their Scholarship Award Program has opened for 2021 applications. The AGM is dedicated to the future of the golf merchandising industry and annually offers scholarships to students who wish to pursue a career in golf merchandising and who have verifiable work experience in the field.
The AGM believes in educating golf retail buyers/merchandisers and golf professionals, elevating the golf merchandising profession and enhancing communication between golf buyers and vendor partners. Students play an important role in shaping the future of the golf industry and through the Scholarship Program, the AGM hopes to encourage them to pursue a golf merchandising career.
The scholarship is open to full-time students enrolled in a college, university or technical institute who have completed their junior year.
In 1999, the AGM Scholarship Program was introduced as a means to foster a better source of professionally trained and educated individuals for the golf industry. Since its inception, the program has awarded 55 scholarships.
“We ask our members to encourage students or interns who are employed at their facilities and who meet the criteria for the program to submit an application,” said AGM President Patrick Casey. “Their interest in carrying forward the profession ensures its future.”
The AGM Scholarship Fund will award scholarships for the academic year 2021-2022 based on the availability of funds and merit of applications. Scholarship awards will be made at the recommendation of the AGM Scholarship Fund Committee and approved by the AGM Board of Directors. The scholarship award will be made directly to the college, university or technical institute.
To apply, students must be enrolled full-time in a college, university or technical institute who have completed their junior year, maintain a 3.0 grade point average or higher, show a “strong and verifiable” work experience in golf merchandising, complete a 350-500 word essay, and provide letters of recommendation.
Applications are due September 1, 2021 and can be accessed by clicking download here:
Direct all questions to AGM Headquarters at 602-604-8250 or info@agmgolf.org. Without exception, all applications/information must be received by September 1, 2021.
