Are Athalonz Shoes Magical?
Only if you believe technology is magical.
It all started when Ryan Steenberg borrowed a pair of Athalonz prototypes from a friend. Steenberg, a very good but up-to-then-winless long drive pro, won his next two tournaments wearing them and credited his footwear choice. “It’s the shoes, baby!”, he screamed to the camera after winning the World Long Drive event in South Carolina. Other long drivers took notice and by the end of the 2019 season, Athalonz was being worn by the men’s (Kyle Berkshire) and women’s (Chloe Garner) world champions, along with 70% of the top-ranked players and more than half the field at the World Championships.
Earlier this year, Bernhard Langer was sent a test pair of Athalonz and he immediately noticed the difference, saying, “When I wear them, I connect with the ball better every time”. He just won the Cologuard Classic in Tucson and leads the Charles Schwab Cup Money List for the PGA Tour Champions. Ken Duke wore Athalonz for the first time last week at the Hoag Classic and led the field after the first day. What’s up with these shoes?
It’s the science, as Athalonz CEO Tim Markison explains: “The Athalonz EnVe uses patented technology to create gradients in the shoe that shift the way the body engages the ground. This increases ground reaction force and improves stability, control and power, as well as decreasing sway and energy loss. All of this technology is permanently built into the non-removable midsole of the shoe, not the removable insole.”
Bottom line: The results might seem magical, but physics is what makes them work so well.
