NEW YORK – Audubon International continues to build on its reputation as a sustainability best practices leader with its newly constructed Green Communities program, designed to create healthier, more vibrant neighborhoods through environmental stewardship and civic engagement.
Through this program, communities benefit from Audubon International’s expert guidance to conserve natural and cultural resources, strengthen strategic planning, enhance reputation, foster resident gratification, increase environmental awareness and improve quality of life for homeowners and their guests.
There are five core components:
- Environmental best practices
- Wildlife conservation and habitat management
- Outreach and education
- Health and wellness
- Environmental partnerships and civic engagement
“Launching Green Communities is a powerful way to guide, recognize and celebrate the meaningful environmental stewardship activities which lead to residential developments achieving certification,” says Jill Moore, Director of Community Programs at Audubon International. “Connecting members with our resources, marketing opportunities and a network of like-minded communities, sustainability advancements represent a prideful sense of environmental, economic and social gains to places we work, live and play.”
