BallenIsles Completes $35 Million Clubhouse Renovation and Expansion
Ribbon cutting scheduled for Nov.2 will unveil a modern masterpiece that redefines scale and style
Champagne toasts and a ribbon cutting ceremony at BallenIsles Country Club on Friday, November 2 at 10 a.m. will usher in a new landmark in the Club’s iconic heritage.
“This $35 Million Clubhouse renovation expands the Club with world-class amenities that redefine scale and style. We have a diverse membership and this new building and its amenities offer something for all. It is stylish, yet comfortable, providing opportunity for socialization and, importantly, multiple dining opportunities that are highly valued by our members. Our Board and designers listened to what our members wanted, and delivered on it,” said BallenIsles General Manager and Chief Operating Officer, Ryan Walls. “This renovation continues our path of reinforcing BallenIsles as a leading country club community, focused on quality and enjoyment for our membership.”
Expanded to 115,000 square feet, the clubhouse has been redesigned to capture vistas of BallenIsles’ famed East Course where Jack Nicklaus and many other golf legends competed for major championships. From the spectacular Grand Lobby with vaulted ceilings and clerestory windows, to the iconic Harry’s Lounge, in tribute to its long tenured, well storied PGA Professional Harry Pezzullo, the sweeping architectural changes maximize both indoor and outdoor usage and views. Dining and social experiences include an expanded Circle 100 Main Dining Room, a new and modern upscale restaurant called Evolution, and the spectacular addition of The BallenIsles Grille overlooking the 18th green of the East Course. Fondly dubbed The B.I.G, it features a blend of gastropub cuisine and 18 TVs for never missing the game.
The new BallenIsles Clubhouse also includes an expansion of Harry’s Lounge and an additional 9,000 square feet of outdoor verandas for dining, relaxing and spending time with friends on the Grand and Golf Terraces. Other additions include two new kitchens and expansion of the stylish Men’s and Ladies Card Rooms, Locker Rooms and Meeting Rooms. In all, BallenIsles will have six dining venues available to its members by year’s end to include, Harry’s Lounge, Bistro 105, Circle 100, Evolution, The BallenIsles Grille (B.I.G) & Rendezvous Room, and the Cabana.
“The entire project was built around the very simple idea of providing something special for everyone. This redesign and expansion perfectly complements our state-of-the-art sports complex and spa. And when a project of this complexity and size comes in on time and on budget, it is just icing on the cake for our membership. We are really proud of all who have contributed to the success of this renovation, which we will enjoy for many years to come” said BallenIsles Board of Directors President, Michael Muntner.
The Ribbon Cutting will recognize the work of the project’s professional partners including Chapman Coyle Chapman & Associate Architects, J. Banks Design Group and Hedrick Brothers Construction, and the club’s professional staff. But none of this would have been possible without the tireless efforts of the club’s member volunteers who had the vision, expertise and energies to bring the project to fruition.
BallenIsles boasts three championship courses with 54 holes of golf, and a world-class 22-court tennis complex, complete with an exhibition tennis court and stadium seating. BallenIsles has also heralded a new standard of wellness and fitness with its $26 million state-of-the-art Sports Complex that is testimony to the Club’s extraordinary commitment to a healthy member lifestyle.
