Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. – BallenIsles Country Club in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. is pleased to welcome Joseph DiPrima as the club’s new director of culinary operations and executive chef. DiPrima will oversee all facets of food service and preparation, across all six of BallenIsles Country Club’s dining venues. The announcement comes after the club conducted an extensive nationwide search. DiPrima officially began at BallenIsles Country Club on November 29.
DiPrima has 18-plus years of private club food and beverage experience. Prior to arriving at BallenIsles, DiPrima served as the executive chef at the Royal Palm Yacht and Country Club, an exclusive, high-end residence club in Boca Raton, recognized as a Distinguished Club, Platinum Club of America and Platinum Club of the World. Over his career, he has served as the executive chef at private clubs in Naples, Fla. and Pinehurst, North Carolina, and as the executive sous chef at Woodfield Country Club in Boca Raton.
“This is an exciting time for me professionally and personally as I am reaching the pinnacle of the club world,” said DiPrima. “My career has steadily grown and now to have the opportunity to serve a Club like BallenIsles, with its long history of established quality and large scale operation, to lead a culinary team in such a prestigious Club is what I’ve prepared for. I am very much looking forward to working closely with our skilled staff to bring memorable dining experiences each day to our members.”
DiPrima grew up in New York where he developed his talent and love of culinary arts first in his family’s Manhattan bakery and at an array of local restaurants. He trained at and is a graduate of The Culinary Institute of America located in Hyde Park, New York and has owned his own deli and catering company.
“During the interview process, Joseph made an immediate impression and connection with everyone he met at BallenIsles,” said BallenIsles Country Club General Manager and COO Ryan Walls. “He is very personable and engaging and exudes a passion for the private country club environment. But in the end, Joseph is a food guy, that is all he has done and all he will do. We look forward to him leading our team in making an incredible food experience for our members.”

About BallenIsles Country Club
In 1963 legendary Florida developer John D. MacArthur and the PGA of America teamed up with golf course architects Dick Wilson and Joe Lee to design a championship-caliber golf facility. Over the next ten years, BallenIsles, then called PGA National Golf Club, hosted numerous major tournaments like the PGA Championship and PGA Seniors Championship and was home for the Professional Golfers’ Association of America. The Club was also the host site for the original PGA TOUR Qualifying School and held the inaugural PGA Merchandise Show. When the MacArthur/PGA of America agreement expired in 1973, the Club was renamed the JDM Country Club for John D. MacArthur. For the next 15 years, the prestigious local country club hosted many celebrities and professional golfers and staged many events on the three golf courses on the property. In 1988, the three golf courses and surrounding property were sold by the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation and renamed BallenIsles Country Club. A multi-year and multimillion dollar plan to develop a private country club community was unveiled. Since the early 2000’s, BallenIsles Country Club has been consistently ranked as one of the Top 100 Clubs in America.
A $35 million clubhouse renovation was completed in November 2018, featuring 115,000 square feet of luxurious space; three championship courses with 54 holes of golf; a world-class 23-court tennis complex including an exhibition tennis court and pickleball courts; and a state-of-the-art Sports Complex with a full-service Cosmo & Company salon and spa, fitness center, Pilates & spin studios and resort-style swimming pool.
