New golf networking company aims to connect players, members and clubs
Los Cabos, Mexico – ClubSync, a new golf networking company, will host a first-ever charity invitational event at Rancho San Lucas Golf Club on Friday, March 19. Members of the destination’s top clubs will compete to determine the inaugural Club Champion of Los Cabos. Proceeds will benefit Por Los Niños de la Sierra AC, a local charity that supports children and their families.
The venue for the event is a spectacular Greg Norman-designed course opened to acclaim in February 2020. Centerpiece of an 834-acre resort and residential community fronting the Pacific Ocean, the breezy links-style course at Rancho San Lucas, spanning three different ecosystems, weaves through a thick cactus forest creased by winding arroyos before descending to enormous windswept dunes within earshot of the rolling surf.
Building on the success of “peer to peer” digital platforms, ClubSync was founded to create a community where players, members and clubs can make direct connections with each other.
“We built ClubSync with a focus on contacts and interactions,” said Paul Colella, ClubSync’s co-founder and CEO. “We believe that our best experiences in golf – much like in life – are created through the right connections.
“Whether these are done within their home/resort clubs or when members/players are traveling outside of their home clubs, we exist to expedite these connections,” Colella explained. “Our platform is different from other models that have tried to facilitate club ‘Access and Reciprocity’ in the past. It is our belief that experiencing incredible golf courses and facilities alone isn’t enough. We believe that experiencing them with like-minded home members is what people want.”
Colella noted that ClubSync’s platform is not solely about leveraging membership to facilitate access. “We are focusing just as much on establishing connections within a member’s home club. Whether with other like-minded members or staff, our platform is designed to be the piece that ties these folks together.
“ClubSync will also drive value to clubs and golf associations,” Colella stated. As members connect with other members, opportunities for clubs to expand their family of members will be maximized. The platform will also feature a landing page to promote key destinations and travel offers.
While geared to private club members, ClubSync will also provide a conduit for public golfers within an association or regional area to sample a ‘private club’ experience as they create groups and organize match play events in their local areas.
“We feel that by creating a platform for all of these constituents to connect, and ensuring that we continually drive value to each and every one of them, we are improving and augmenting their golf lifestyles,” Colella concluded.
Following a series of tournaments to be conducted in U.S. resort areas this year, ClubSync plans to host a national tourney for winning teams in Los Cabos in 2022.
The “Battle of the Baja,” scheduled for Friday, March 19, will feature a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. The format is two person teams, better ball. Entry fee is $250 per player. A major portion of the proceeds will be donated to charity and be used for prize money. A champion’s trophy will be awarded to the winning golf club. The top three teams in the competition will receive cash awards. In addition, a $50,000 Hole In One competition will be contested on the fifth hole at Rancho San Lucas, a dramatic downhill par 3 walled in by towering dunes.
