Cape Charles, Va. – Bay Creek, a beach and golf community located along Virginia’s Eastern Shore in Cape Charles, recently unveiled their newly expanded food and beverage operation, including a fresh new fine dining experience, event space and an enlarged kitchen. The renovation project took four-and-a-half months to complete and cost approximately $575,000.
The genesis of the F&B renovation project began to unfold in 2023, when the Bay Creek golf shop was relocated in the existing clubhouse. The move created additional space to expand food and beverage operations to include fine dining and event space. During the renovation, The Coach House Tavern gained 100 additional seats and a newly developed event space. In the kitchen, Bay Creek added nearly 1,500 sq. ft of additional cooking and prep space, installed all new state-of-the-art kitchen equipment, redesigned the serving line and dish washing areas, mounted a connecting double hood system, and created both ala carte and banquet cooking lines.
“We are excited to expand kitchen and dining facilities for our members,” said Bobby Masters, Executive Vice President Lifestyle Communities at Bay Creek Development. “We recognize that as our membership grows, we need to be increasing our infrastructure. This project gives us just that.”
As a result of the expanded operation and increase in business, Bay Creek added 10 new employees, including wait staff, line cooks and banquet servers.
“We are incredibly fortunate to work with Bay Creek Development to deliver on their mission of providing ongoing enhancements at Bay Creek for our members,” said Troon Vice President of Operations Justin Smith. “We believe that Bay Creek’s beauty and amenities are unmatched, and our team is thrilled to showcase the most recent improvements to the club. These include the new golf shop, state-of-the-art golf simulator, dining and event space, and a new kitchen that will deliver elevated dining experiences for our members, their families, and their guests.”
Located along the waters of the Chesapeake Bay, Bay Creek features 27-holes of golf, including an 18-hole Arnold Palmer Signature course, and a 9-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course. Both courses are private, but the community retains a resort component, renting homes and allowing guests pay to play. Golfweekrecognizes the Palmer and Nicklaus Courses among the state’s top golf courses in its ranking of “Top Courses You Can Play” in Virginia.
In addition to 27-holes of award-winning golf, Bay Creek also includes a 10,000 sq. ft. Life Center. From expert fitness instruction, two pools (one for laps and one for kids), and state-of-the-art exercise equipment, to nutrition assessments and professionally designed environs that both calm and energize, the Life Center is the hub of fitness and wellness for the Bay Creek community. Bay Creek’s spectacular 350-acre nature preserve is a haven for hiking, walking, canoeing, kayaking, and learning about nature. In the clubhouse, tucked beside the Bay Creek golf shop and overlooking the club’s golf practice facility, the Coach House Tavern is Bay Creek’s restaurant and tavern with an Eastern Shore-inspired menu that celebrates the flavors of the region.
