Scottsdale, Ariz. – Baylands Golf Links in Palo Alto, California recently welcomed Siegfried Wroebel as the club’s new general manager. Wroebel will oversee all elements of the 18-hole public facility from golf operations and agronomy, to food and beverage and sales/marketing.
Wroebel is a 16-plus year veteran of the golf industry working his way from an assistant professional at Poppy Hills Golf Course in Pebble Beach, Calif. to leading the golf operations at clubs throughout Northern California. Wroebel comes to Baylands Golf Links from Monarch Bay Golf Club in San Leandro, Calif. where he served as general manager since 2018.
“I am extremely excited to work with OB Sports, the great staff at Baylands and the City of Palo Alto,” said Wroebel. “I am wholly focused on continuing to make Baylands Golf Links the best public golf facility in Northern California.”
A Class-A Member of the PGA of America, Wroebel grew up in and currently resides in Alameda, Calif. with his wife Heidi and their two children. An avid sports fan, he has coached college golf for 15 years for Holy Names University and Cal State University East Bay.

Bayland Golf Links is managed by OB Sports. In 2018, golf course architect completed a redesign and reconfiguration of the original William F. Bell design known as Palo Alto Municipal Golf Course, which opened in 1956. Founded in the mid 1950’s, the municipal course is owned by the City of Palo Alto as part of its Baylands Nature Preserve District, adjacent to the coastal land bordering Palo Alto along the San Francisco Bay. The San Fransisquito Creek, a historic waterway, runs along the course and is a major flood conveyance stream. The golf holes at Baylands Golf Links are separated by large natural areas planted with wetlands plant species that improve habitat for birds and wildlife, and integrate the golf course into its Baylands setting.
