Selbyville, Delaware – Bayside Resort Golf Club, a Troon Privé-managed, semi-private facility in Selbyville, Delaware, recently welcomed Eric Mason as the club’s new director of golf. As director of golf, Mason will oversee all golf operations, tournament operations and retail management for the award-winning, 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature course, which Golfweek Magazine ranks as one of the state’s top golf courses.
Mason has been a part of the Carl M. Freeman Companies family for the past seven years, starting at Bear Trap Dunes in Ocean View, Del. where he began as an assistant golf professional, and moving his way up to head golf professional, a position he has held since 2019. He is a graduate of the Professional Golf Management Program and Hotel and Restaurant Management Program at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
Mason discovered a passion for golf operations and retail during his time at Bear Trap Dunes. He is six-time Association of Golf Merchandisers Platinum Award Winner for excellence in retail, a two time Coastal Styles “Best Golf Professional” award winner, and, most recently, nominated for PGA Professional of the Year in the Philadelphia Section; the highest honor a PGA Professional can receive in our Section.
