Sensory sensory-friendly clothing elevates junior golf apparel with comfort and style
Charleston, SC – Bear the Palm, a family-owned company based in Charleston, South Carolina, today announces its plans to exhibit at the 2024 PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Fla, January 23-26. Launching in 2023, this will be the junior-focused apparel brand’s first time attending with their full line of products on display at Booth No. 5888.
“We cannot wait to share our brand story and new apparel with industry leaders as this was only a dream for us a few years ago,” said Bear the Palm founder Lindsey Leech. “We are bringing junior exclusive apparel that is truly unique to the industry with a focus on stylish, sensory friendly options. After all, if we want kids to feel confident, they need to be comfortable too!”
Bear the Palm’s apparel collections include, “The Lowcountry Collection,” beautiful nature prints inspired by “the locals” from the place the brand calls home, Charleston, SC, with polos featuring three button placket with small Bear the Palm logo tag on cuff of sleeve; “The Uncle Arnie Collection,” inspired by the style of golf legends, featuring a longer four button placket and pocket that includes a classic embroidered bear and palm tree logo; “The Tour Collection,” featuring polo designs that are inspired by family-friendly golf tournaments; “Just For Fun Collection,” classic three-button placket performance polo available in fun prints that kids and parents alike will enjoy; and “The Par-stel Collection,” youth performance polos with a touch of prep that are available in seasons’ most popular pastels for Spring/Summer 2024. Bear the Palm also will debut collections of quarter zips, joggers and shorts.
The brand is committed to providing unique prints inspired by the Lowcountry, ensuring that children, parents, and grandparents will enjoy fashion-forward designs like oysters, blue crabs, and marsh scenery in celebration of the region’s heritage. Founder Lindsey Leech’s passion for creating sensory-friendly clothing stems from her son’s sensory processing disorder diagnosis. Understanding the struggles faced by many parents, Lindsey collaborated with healthcare professionals, teachers, and parents to develop apparel that prioritizes comfort and functionality.
ABOUT BEAR THE PALM
Based in Charleston, South Carolina, Lindsey’s family is lucky enough to spend most of the year outdoors. Her sons’ love for golf was the catalyst for this venture. When shopping for their golf apparel, it was difficult to find a happy medium between standard stripes and large, loud prints for the young athlete. She noticed most boys were often wearing oversized, untucked polos with parents admitting to the same struggles as her to finding better options. The polo shirts are crafted with a focus on catering to sensory-sensitive children, incorporating gentle, moisture-wicking fabrics and tagless designs, crafted to provide just the right level of stretch for effortless wearing and removal.
Inspired by Lindsey’s sons, Palmer and Bear, the name “Bear the Palm” originates from Roman history when it was custom to present the victorious gladiator with a palm. The phrase can be what it means to you to “take the prize” or “be the winner.” For her family, the person who “bears the palm” is the one who is having the most fun!
