Public can play where the PGA TOUR and LPGA Tour’s best play, and reservations for Golf Stay & Play packages are now being accepted ahead of Black Desert’s October 16 opening to hotel guests
St. George, Utah –Recently named the number one public-access golf course in Utah and one of the top resort courses in the United States, Black Desert Resort offers the world-class experience and amenities typically expected from a private club, all with the accessibility of a daily-fee course.
Golfers can now reserve tee times up to 60 days in advance at www.blackdesertresort.com, with priority access available to property owners and resort guests. Starting October 16, Black Desert Resort will open its doors to resort guests for a special “Preview Period.” This period provides a unique chance to offer feedback and actively participate in shaping the future of Black Desert Resort before its official grand opening in early 2025. During the Preview Period, guests will have access to a carefully selected range of amenities and services, including limited dining options, recreational facilities, and the spectacular golf course, all set against the stunning backdrop of Southern Utah’s red rock landscapes.
Guests can also book the highly anticipated Golf Stay and Play packages, which are now available for reservations up to a year in advance. These exclusive packages, offered at a 10-15% discount off the best available rates, include two nights in premium accommodations, greens fees for two, cart fees, complimentary range balls, food and non-alcoholic beverages during your round, a fore caddy, and a personalized tee gift. Additionally, guests can enjoy same-day replays for just $175.
Group Golf Outings are also available for reservation for groups of 12 or more, requiring a two-night minimum stay, and can be booked up to a year in advance.
“Experiencing a round at Black Desert Resort feels like playing on a private course, yet we take pride in being a resort that is open to all,” said Patrick Manning, Managing Partner of Black Desert Resort. “The enthusiastic response to our golf course since its opening just over a year ago reflects our dedication to excellence. The stunning black lava that frames our fairways, along with the breathtaking red rock backdrop, creates an extraordinary atmosphere, and we are committed to making the entire resort experience equally memorable.”
Set against the spectacular backdrop of Greater Zion, the par-72, 7,400-yard Black Desert golf course was designed by Phil Smith and the late Tom Weiskopf—the final design from the World Golf Hall of Fame 2024 inductee. Crafted for enjoyment at all skill levels, the course features forgiving fairways and strategically placed landing areas ranging from 70 to 100 yards wide. Beginners will find satisfaction, while seasoned players will encounter plenty of risk-and-reward challenges from the back tees. Carts equipped with GPS provide hole-by-hole commentary from Weiskopf. The state-of-the-art practice area includes TRACKMAN technology, and the expansive two-acre, 36-hole putting green is the perfect place to fine-tune your stroke before a round or enjoy a fun barefoot putting competition with friends over evening refreshments.
