CBS Sports will air third- and final-round coverage of the Wyndham Championship, Saturday (2-5 p.m. ET) and Sunday (3-6 p.m. ET). … CBS Sports reports that an estimated 35.7 million viewers watched all or part of its coverage of the 2009 PGA Championship, up 88 percent from last year, according to Nielsen Media Research. In terms of ratings, CBS earned an average overnight household rating/share of 7.5/17, up 150 percent, ranking it the highest-rated final round of the PGA Championship in the metered markets since 2002 (8.0/17). The network’s coverage of the third and final rounds was the most watched since 2002 when 40.8 million watched all or part of the PGA Championship. … On Saturday, Aug. 22, CBS will air “Lady Liberty Awaits, the Story of Liberty National,” a one-hour special that tells the story of Liberty National, which is 1,000 yards from the Statue of Liberty and is host to The Barclays, the first event of the PGA Tour Playoffs for the FedEx Cup.
