Bonita Springs, Fla. – Bonita National Golf & Country Club in Bonita Springs, Fla. recently welcomed JP Shepherd as the private club’s new Head Golf Professional. Shepherd will lead all golf operations for the club’s Gordon Lewis-designed 18-hole golf course.
Shepherd has five-plus years of golf and hospitality industry experience, having most recently served as the First Assistant Golf Professional at Northriver Yacht Club, a Troon-managed facility in Tuscaloosa, Ala. At Northriver, Shepherd was actively involved in enhancing and improving the member experience, while also managing golf operations, merchandising, tournaments and overseeing the outside service staff. Prior to Northriver, he was an Assistant Golf Professional at Greensboro Country Club, a Donald Ross-design in North Carolina. He has also worked seasonally at White Bear Yacht Club in Minnesota and Desert Mountain in Scottsdale, Arizona.
No stranger to Bonita National, Shepherd assisted on a Troon “task force” assignment in February and March of this year, where he was instrumental in assisting the golf operations team through the transition to a Troon Privé-managed club.
“We are very excited to have JP join our team and look forward to a very successful season with him at the helm,” said Bonita National Golf & Country Club General Manager Peter Serena.
Troon Privé, the private club operating division of Troon, manages Bonita National Golf & Country Club. For more information on Bonita National Golf & Country Club, visit www.bonitanationalgolfcc.com.
