Boris Gradina, MCM, CCE, Achieves Master Club Manager Designation
Alexandria, VA — February 21, 2020 — The Club Management Association of America (CMAA) is proud to announce that CMAA member Boris Gradina, MCM, CCE, has achieved the designation of Master Club Manager (MCM). The MCM designation in club management provides the means by which experienced club managers can make a significant contribution to their industry through adding to the knowledge base available to other club management professionals. The MCM designation recognizes the importance of the significant, long-lasting contributions made by club managers to their clubs, their professions, and their communities.
In 1990, the CMAA Board of Directors delegated the task of developing its MCM designation to its Certification Committee. Since that time, the requirements and procedures that comprise this MCM Portfolio have been implemented to yield a meaningful and challenging, but achievable, professional development for CMAA’s membership.
The MCM designation was officially bestowed to Boris Gradina at the Opening Business Session of the recent 2020 CMAA World Conference and Club Business Expo in Grapevine, TX, on Sunday, February 9. Gradina is the 23rd CMAA member to achieve this designation.
With more than 23 years of experience in the private club industry, Gradina currently serves as the General Manager of Maryland Golf & Country Club in Bel Air, MD. His monograph, “Employee Onboarding at Private Clubs,” explores the topic of onboarding practices from ten highly regarded and well-known private clubs along with selected leading hospitality establishments. It offers checklists, templates, and a set of best practices for the onboarding process that club managers can utilize in creating new or enhancing existing employee onboarding programs.
