PGA GOLF PROFESSIONAL BRENDAN MCGRATH CAPTURES MIDDLE ATLANTIC PGA (MAPGA) SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP ON HOME COURSE AT TRUMP NATIONAL GOLF CLUB IN DC

Assistant PGA Golf Professional at Trump National Golf Club DC Outduels Stellar Field of MAPGA Golf Professionals to Win Championship and Qualify for the National Sr. PGA Professional Championship in October at PGA Club in Port St. Lucie, FL.

Stafford, Va.  – Centreville, VA resident Brendan McGrath, the Assistant PGA Golf Professional at Trump National Golf Club in DC, has captured the 2025 Middle Atlantic PGA (MAPGA) Senior Championship at his home course. McGrath, the only player to finish under par during the two-day tournament, outdueled a stellar field of MAPGA members in capturing the event, besting former PGA Champions TOUR and current PGA Life Member, Dick Mast, by one stroke and two strokes over John O’Leary, his co-worker and the Director of Golf at Trump National Golf Club.

By winning the 2025 Middle Atlantic PGA Senior Championship, McGrath also qualified for the National Senior PGA Professional Championship which takes place October 23-26 at PGA Golf Club, in Port St. Lucie, Fl. He will lead 5 MAPGA professionals who will compete against some of the PGA of America’s premier senior club professionals.

A member of the Middle Atlantic Section of the PGA of America (MAPGA), the leading authority on the game and business of golf in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia, McGrath is an accomplished player with several championships to his credit, including the 2023 Maryland Senior Open and 2023 Senior Open of Virginia titles, as well as being named as the 2023 MAPGA Senior Player of the Year.

“Brendan is one of the most accomplished senior players within our Middle Atlantic PGA Section,” said Jon Guhl, Executive Director, Middle Atlantic PGA. “Winning the MAPGA Senior Championship is another milestone in his career and we’re proud that he represents us on both the local and national levels as a PGA of America Golf Professional.”
