ACCOMPLISHED WESTERN NEW YORK INSTRUCTOR BRIAN JACOBS TO APPEAR on Golf Channel’s ‘Morning Drive’
Decorated PGA professional Brian Jacobs, the 2017 Western New York Section PGA Teacher of the Year, is scheduled to appear as a guest instructor on Golf Channel’s Morning Drive on Wednesday, Oct. 10.
The popular daily morning show airs from 7-9 a.m. ET.
Jacobs, Owner and Director of Instruction at Brian Jacobs Golf – located at Ridgemont Country Club in Rochester, N.Y.—is one of the inaugural coaches in Golf Channel Academy (GCA), a dedicated network of teaching facilities. Select GCA coaches are being invited to appear on the network’s news and instruction shows, including PGA Tour Champions Learning Center and School of Golf; Jacobs is making his third appearance on Morning Drive.
“It’s a tremendous honor to be on Morning Drive once again,” said Jacobs, who was recently awarded the prestigious Horton Smith Award by the WNY PGA Section for his outstanding contributions to developing and improving education opportunities for PGA golf professionals. “I look forward to sharing some of my favorite full swing and short game tips with the viewers at home and helping them with their performance where it matters most—on the course.”
A Hank Haney Certified Instructor, Jacobs has been teaching professionally for more than 15 years. He is an accomplished player and caddie—having caddied in a U.S. Amateur and on the LPGA Tour—and also possesses a Master of Education. Prior to opening his own golf academy, Jacobs taught at some of the finest facilities in the Greater Rochester Area, including Midvale Country Club, Locust Hill CC and The Country Club of Rochester. He also served as the Director of Instruction at Irondequoit CC and worked as a Lead Instructor for ESPN Golf Schools, where he trained under Haney, one of Golf Digest’s 10 Best Teachers in America.
Jacob’s students have qualified for the U.S. Amateur, earned college scholarships and won multiple club championships and junior titles, including the New York State Junior Amateur.
