Presented By Marzano Capital Group and AMF Building Products
Like many other sports related series Jeff Critenden’s 2020 Xtreme Long Drive® World Championship Series was shortened due to the pandemic. The series owned and operated by Ultimate Long Drive, Inc will go forward with a 2020 Series Championship presented by Marzano Capital Group and AMF Building Products. Bryan Park Golf & Conference Center will host the event October 31 & November 1, 2020 on the main driving range.
“This event will be one of those with an asterisk by it,” said Jeff Gilder, president of Ultimate Long Drive, Inc. “We’re faced with the reality that other countries are still confined within their borders and participation will most likely be limited to US competitors. There are a few hitters who have purchased airfare in hopes they will be yet be able to travel, but having a multi-national competition this season is a slim possibility.”
The series has secured Cog Hill Golf & Country Club for the 2021 World Championship. The dates for that event are September 11-19, 2021.
In addition to the Xtreme Long Drive® competition at this event, amateurs will be competing in a National Qualifier to punch their tickets to the 2021 Amateur Long Drive™ National Championship August 12-14th, 2021 at Barefoot Resort & Golf.
“We are extremely grateful to the Greensboro community and sponsors that have stepped up in this crazy year to support our event,” says Jeff Critenden, event organizer and Xtreme Long Drive® Tour Commissioner. “We’re excited to be able to showcase our series here. It is my home and we plan to make Greensboro a regular stop on the tour for years to come. We have some of the world’s best long drivers committed to the event. It is going to be a great show.”
Crittenden is two-time and reigning WLD Masters World Champion. He teaches golf in the Greensboro area, does long drive exhibitions and speaking engagements, as well as coaching long drive athletes. He recently coached Scottie Pearman to two Amateur Long Drive™ World Championships. Pearman will be competing as a professional at this event.
The 2020 Xtreme Long Drive® Series Championship will have divisions for Women, Masters (45+), and Open. Amateur divisions are open for all ages and abilities. There’s still time for interested competitors to register at https://xtremelongdrive.com and https://amateurlongdrive.com.
