Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth Chooses CaddieNow to Ramp up Caddie Program
CaddieNow to Help Reawaken Tradition at Historic Club
CaddieNow, the nation’s most trusted caddie program, has signed an agreement to provide its popular caddie service at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, one of the most prestigious courses in America.
CaddieNow officials announced the new partnership with the venerable institution today. In doing so, Colonial Country Club is reinvigorating its caddie program to enhance the golfer experience and renew the traditional feel most valued by its members. CaddieNow has become the premiere caddie service platform for courses by delivering industry-leading technology, unmatched customization and best-in-class service.
Colonial was founded in 1936 by Marvin Leonard, of the famous Leonard Bros. Department Stores in Fort Worth. The Club has a rich history and storied past dating back to member Ben Hogan, one of the game’s and industry’s first stars. It will host the PGA tour again this year with the Charles Schwab Challenge, May 23-26, 2019. Colonial is a member-owned club consisting of approximately 1,500 members.
CaddieNow is excited to help bring back one of the great traditions of golf. Although Colonial has had a small caddie program for years, they are eager to expand by adding more caddies, especially youth caddies. Through CaddieNow’s partnership with The First Tee Fort Worth and area schools, the new program will ensure youth caddies are available to Colonial members via the on-demand service throughout the summer and on weekends during the school year. Core to CaddieNow’s mission is to use the great tradition of caddying to give youth access to great mentoring opportunities while earning money caddying. Historically, caddying has provided tremendous networking opportunities for youth that have led to internships at local businesses through people they met on the course.
“Colonial is moving back to the strong traditions we were founded on,” said Mike Rushing, General Manager at Colonial. “Connecting to our community in a rich, meaningful way that engages our members with local youth, especially high school and TCU students near Colonial, is good for our club. An important goal of our renewed program will be to help caddies receive scholarships by looping at Colonial, while being dedicated to the principles and values that match our culture. It’s a win-win for everyone.”
“CaddieNow is extremely honored to partner with a prestigious and historic venue like the Colonial Country Club,” said Dave Cavossa, CaddieNow Founder and CEO. “Colonial is internationally-known and respected, and we are excited to bring our top-quality service to Fort Worth. We expanded into the Dallas-Fort Worth region last year and are ready to walk side-by-side with Colonial to give their members a first-class experience. To grow the game amongst a new generation at a first-class course like Colonial is both exciting to us and enticing to youth.”
Since it was founded in 2015, CaddieNow’s goal has been to engage the youngest generation in golf by providing them exposure to the game while protecting clubs against wage and liability exposure. CaddieNow is looking for youth and adult caddies to join the CaddieNow workforce for work at Colonial and other courses throughout the Metroplex. Candidates can sign up and register online at http://www.CaddieNow.com.
“Caddying has so many positives,” Cavossa added. “It provides immediate income and opens networking opportunities that can help teens and college students with their future careers. Many golfers also enjoy mentoring and sharing the game with younger people. The lifetime impact at both ends can be immeasurable.”
The services offered at Colonial will include: JR LOOPER, LOOPER, FORE-LOOPER and PRO-LOOPER. The company is currently operating on more than 110 courses in eight states.
