Charity golf tournament focuses on the need to provide awareness and assistance for combat injured veterans and families facing the challenges of Fanconi anemia and its related cancers
On January 14, Caddy For A Cure, Inc., will host their 12th annual Liberty Mutual Invitational golf tournament at the Parkland Golf & Country Club in Parkland, FL. Inspirational guest speaker retired Army Major General James Myles will be on hand to talk about the ongoing needs of combat injured veterans and how Caddy For A Cure is providing support to these brave warriors thru their program in golf. Also contributing to the event will be nationally renowned and multi-talented sports personality Ann Liguori as the Live Auctioneer. Ann is the Golf Correspondent for WFAN-NY and CBS Sports Radio Network and will be covering her 21st consecutive Masters in April. Ann is an original host on The Golf Channel and the first woman to host a call-in sports show on WFAN-NY, the first all-sports radio station in the country. She has interviewed hundreds of top sport’s legends for her award-winning tv and radio show, ‘Sports Innerview.’
Retired Army Major General Jim Myles serves as the Senior Military Advisor to Caddy For A Cure and will be sharing his history with the charity. “For the past 7 years I have had the great pleasure of observing the long-lasting impact that Caddy For A Cure has had on our wounded veterans and their families. Russ and Colleen Holden have made it happen through hard work, strong leadership and creating special memories for others. My experience “on the bag” with Rickie Fowler opened my eyes to something that is truly one of the great memories in all of golf. The net result of the CFAC efforts is a brighter future for many of our wounded warriors and their families.”

Scramble Format Golf Tournament followed by buffet dinner and awards ceremony, including a silent and live auction and MG Myles’ Keynote Address. Golf will include multiple on-course games and activities, as well as food samplings from area restaurateurs Abe & Louie’s, Chick-Fil-A and Mission BBQ. The evening will include live music by Eli Naim and Dave Bray USA.

The Caddy For A Cure program offers caddy opportunities from its website www.caddyforacure.com, where interested parties bid on the opportunity to caddy for a specific professional player and tournament. The auction winner spends the day with the player on the driving range, putting green and golf course, watching each shot first-hand and experiencing the excitement of being part of a professional golf event. Caddy participation is fully tax deductible as allowed by law and auction proceeds are directed to charities, including the Fanconi Anemia Research Fund, Birdies for the Brave, and charities selected by each tournament.
