-Golden State dominates ‘Most Played’ courses by Arccos members in 2022-
STAMFORD, Conn., – Playing sunlit California golf courses and benefiting from the latest shot-tracking data and Artificial Intelligence to improve their scoring has proved an irresistible combination for Arccos members, according to rounds recorded using the award-winning Arccos platform in 2022.
Courses in California dominated the ‘Most Played’ rankings for Arccos members playing 18-hole rounds with Arccos smart sensors in 2022, with eight of the top 10 facilities located in the Golden State, the majority of which are situated in the San Francisco area. Only the Jumeirah Estates’ Earth and Fire Courses in Dubai proved the exception on a global basis.
At the top of the most played course list for Arccos members in 2022 was Baylands Golf Links. Formerly Palo Alto Municipal, the course was renovated in 2018 by Forest Richardson and renamed. Baylands Golf Links saw 1,497 Arccos member rounds played last year – equating to almost 125 rounds each month.
“California is by far the most popular destination for the Arccos community, and the courses around the SanFrancisco area, in particular, are clearly where golfers choose to leverage Arccos most often,” said Darren Feeney, Arccos’ Vice President of Marketing. “We love seeing rounds from around the globe appear on our list as it clearly showcases why Arccos is golf’s #1 on-course tracking system,” he added.
Next on the ‘Most Played’ charts came Presidio Golf Course (1,335) and Monarch Bay ranked third (1,211), followed by the Earth Course at the Jumeirah Estates in Dubai (1,191), Rustic Canyon at Moorpark, CA (1,173),2020 PGA Championship venue TPC Harding Park (1,153) and Boundary Oak at Walnut Creek, CA (1,147) in seventh place.
Rounding out the top 10 as the eighth most played course was Penmar at Venice, CA (1,130), closely followed by the Fire Course at Jumeirah Estates in Dubai (1,113) in ninth and San Jose Municipal, CA (1,086) in tenth.
Other notable courses to attract Arccos members last year included Trump International and The Els Club in Dubai, Foxhills and Royal North Devon in England, Royal Queensland and Tea Tree Gully in Australia, plus a host of top-ranked U.S. courses such as Oakmont, Torrey Pines (North & South), Poppy Hills, Half Moon Bay, Westchester CC, and Chambers Bay.
Releases from Arccos for Q1 2023 will include an On-Course Data API allowing companies to leverage Arccos player data to build products and services; Launch Monitor Data Capture across eight key characteristics to fuel powerful insights like ‘smart carry’ distances; an A.I. Rangefinder with Enhanced Personalizationproviding even more accurate yardages and club recommendations; plus a New Arccos for Apple Watch update offering an enhanced user experience.
Arccos members have now recorded more than 650 million shots during 13.5 million rounds in 162 countries worldwide. The largest on-course dataset in golf sourced from 700 billion separate data points, powers Arccos’ industry-leading Strokes Gained engine that allows a player to select their personal handicap goal, then provides personalized analysis for every game aspect and each club in the bag.
Golf’s first Artificial Intelligence platform, Arccos Caddie, automatically tracks your shots while delivering in-round insights and personalized Strokes Gained analytics for every game facet and each club in your bag. The system is highlighted by an A.I.-powered rangefinder, smart club distances and caddie advice for every golf hole on earth. These innovations helped new Arccos members who played at least 10 rounds lowered their handicap index by an average of 5.71 strokes in their first year of membership.
The Arccos Caddie system and the Arccos Caddie Link wearable are permitted under the Rules of Golf (USGA Decision Numbers 2018-0414 and 2020-0305).
