(Girona, Spain) – Camiral, home of The 2031 Ryder Cup, has further strengthened its reputation as Spain’s No.1 golf resort after receiving recognition at the 59club European Service Excellence Awards, underlining its commitment to exceptional hospitality and guest experience.
Home to the critically-acclaimed Stadium Course and Tour Course, the European Tour Destination has been awarded a fourth consecutive Gold Flag designation – a testament to its continued focus on service consistency and operational excellence across all guest touchpoints.
The 59club European Service Excellence Awards recognise outstanding venues, teams and individuals across golf and hospitality who are dedicated to the highest standards of customer service.
Lee Mathew Waggott, General Manager of 59club Europe South, said: “Camiral continues to define the benchmark for customer service at European golf resorts. NOTES TO EDITORS
Camiral, a Quinta do Lago Resort, first opened in 1999 and quickly established an international reputation for outstanding quality. It is ranked the number one resort in Spain by Golf World magazine, which also recognises the Stadium Course in its World Top 100 Courses.
The 36-hole resort also offers two accommodation options – the 5* Hotel Camiral, a member of The Leading Hotels of The World, and LAVIDA Hotel, aimed at the active traveller. At its heart is the Wellness Centre (opened in 2021) that offers personalised healing and high-tech treatments, akin to those found at specialist clinics and elite athletic facilities. In addition, the European Tour Destination comprises a discreet, low-density real estate development, with first-class leisure facilities and a select number of villa plots, stylish modern semi-detached villas, and luxury apartments.
Having achieved its GEO Certified status in 2013 and bestowed IAGTO’s Sustainability Award for Nature Protection in recognition of excellence in environmental and social responsibility in 2020, Camiral has been implementing a maintenance and upkeep programme more akin to that of a natural sanctuary than a golf resort, in line with policies established in the European Green Deal and the EU biodiversity strategy 2020-2030.
Conveniently situated close to Girona-Costa Brava Airport (five-minute drive) and Barcelona International Airport (one-hour drive), the venue also benefits from the high-speed train line that links Girona (approximately 15 kilometres from Camiral) to the rest of Spain and Europe, which provides even faster connections to major cities, including Barcelona, which can now be reached in just 37 minutes.
