The Stablehouse is just one piece of broader reimagination of renowned club
Gig Harbor, Wa.– Invited, the worldwide leader in private clubs and formerly known as ClubCorp, is pleased to announce the completion of several significant reinvestment efforts at Canterwood Golf & Country Club. These efforts are part of an ongoing multi-million reinvestment campaign that spans Invited’s portfolio of private member clubs and is focused on creating a refined yet inviting environment that best fits today’s members.
As part of this comprehensive renovation project, Canterwood’s dining experience has been reimagined through the opening of The Stablehouse. The new name pays homage to Canterwood’s rich equestrian roots as the club’s name originated from the community’s beginnings as a private equestrian community.
This has been a complete renovation of the dining area, overhauling the menu and restructuring the space to better serve members. A private dining area was built to accommodate private gatherings, while the bar space was doubled in size from the previous one to provide a more spacious and comfortable setting for guests.
“We’re thrilled to be able to welcome our members and their guests to the reimagined Stablehouse, a key element of the comprehensive reinvestment we’ve put into Canterwood,” said Sam Niland, General Manager of Canterwood Golf & Country Club. “This elevated dining space, combined with exciting new culinary offerings and some beloved dishes, creates an inclusive membership experience that showcases the best of our community.”
Canterwood’s golf course has long been ranked as one of the best in Washington, demanding a variety of shots to test golfers of varying skill levels. As part of the renovation efforts at the club, the course has seen several enhancements to better engage members and guests, including:
- A new practice facility featuring two putting greens, a pitching area for shots up to 60 yards and a greenside bunker for members to work on their short game
- An expanded and renovated driving range tee to increase member access to grass practice area
- A six-bay driving range cover for use during the famously wet pacific northwest winters
- The installation of state-of-the-art pump station for more efficient water usage and improved turf conditions
- The resurfacing of cart paths on all eighteen holes for improved comfort on the golf course
Additionally, work is underway to revitalize the club’s racquet sports area, resurfacing a pair of existing courts to transform them into eight new pickleball courts with work expected to be complete by the end of Summer 2024.
In addition to Canterwood, Invited also owns and operates the Columbia Tower Club and The Collective Seattle in the Seattle area.
