Pickleball, tennis, and pool facilities are complete. Reimagined golf course debuts this month. Clubhouse, culinary, kid’s club, and fitness center underway, with completion slated for spring 2024.
RICHARDSON, Texas. – Invited, the world’s largest owner and operator of private clubs, has wrapped up the second phase of a multimillion-dollar reinvention project at Canyon Creek Country Club in Richardson, Texas, on the northern end of Dallas with the completion of an extensive reimagining of its golf course.
Now extended to 7,037 yards, Canyon Creek will play as a Par 72 thanks to strategic portions of the course lengthened with new tee boxes added to cater to a broader range of players and offer more shot variety. Our newly lengthened driving range and enhanced features, including a laser-leveled tee, premier turf, new targets, and practice accessories, complete our golf improvements. Also opening this month is our newest dining experience, The BoxCar. We took an old boxcar as a nod to the railroad ties of the area and transformed it into a haven of grab-and-go delights, thoughtfully stationed for both golfers seeking a quick refuel and racquet sport players in need of a break.
Additionally, designs for a completely revamped clubhouse, including new bar and dining areas, fitness, a kid’s club, and an enhanced pro shop, are nearing completion. Clubhouse renovations are to be completed by the summer of 2024.
These enhancements are comprehensively reshaping the Member experience. Earlier this year, a new pickleball experience debuted, including ten new courts, and the Club also launched a new resort-style pool.
“Once we complete the transformation, Canyon Creek Country Club will rank among our finest clubs in the Invited Clubs portfolio,” said Invited CEO David Pillsbury. “Our Members now can enjoy a modern, fun, playable but challenging golf experience with enhancements throughout the course. Members and their guests can look forward to a brand new course complete with new tees, fairways, and reimagined green complexes. The transformation won’t stop at the course as the entire property and experience will be elevated. We aim to elevate every aspect of the Member experience and create a premier, family-first Club marked by unparalleled service and a full range of first-class amenities.”
The course changes and improvements will enhance the experience for players of every skill level. Enhancements to the golf course include:
- New turf installed throughout the course from tees, fairways, greens, rough, and collars
- G12 Champion Greens and TifTuf Bermudagrass tee boxes, fairways, rough, and collars.
- TifTuf has numerous qualities that make it a sustainable surface for tees, approaches, fairways,, and roughs, including drought tolerance and a reduced need for irrigation. TifTuf uses 38 percent less water and retains 95 percent more green leaf tissue during drought stress than other surfaces.
- CHAMPION G12 has significantly more vigorous rooting with greater total root mass. This results in improved plant health, a greater resistance to stress, improved recuperative abilities, and improved irrigation management.
- All tee renovations include laser-leveled new TifTuf Bermudagrass
- In addition to the new turf on the greens, many greens were redesigned to create new hole locations and more shot-making variety
- Enhanced driving range experience – new driving range grass and mats, expanding the tee deck and lengthening the range overall by 35-40 yards. The driving range includes a laser-leveled tee, premier turf, and new targets.
- Irrigation system upgrades and enhancements designed to further optimize and reduce water use
- Redesign of bunkers to deliver championship consistency and improved definition throughout the course
- Upgraded Trackman system with a screen and features for leagues
“This reinvention plan is the most in-depth of its kind in our Club’s history. We encourage families, Members, and prospects alike to join this exciting journey with us,” said Lisa Neel, General Manager of Canyon Creek Country Club. “The early response has been outstanding with increased membership sales and an energized and excited membership. With roots in the Richardson community stretching back to 1963, we have a rich and proud history. But, in many ways, we are just getting started. We are thrilled for what this next chapter has in store for everyone who calls our club home, whether you’ve just moved to the area or are a long-time member of the family.”
