Avery and Shelton Attain Certified Club Manager (CCM) Certification

The Club Management Association of America (CMAA) announces the two newest club management professionals who have most recently attained the designation of Certified Club Manager (CCM). The CCM designation indicates that a club management professional has completed a rigorous course of study and training and shows a dedication to proficiency and expertise in club management.

Jed Avery, CCM, Little Harbor Club, Harbor Springs, MI, and Robin Shelton, CCM, SeaCliff Country Club, Huntington Beach, CA., successfully met all CCM requirements in May.

Established in 1965, the CCM designation is a valuable, internationally recognized, and widely-respected mark of a manager’s commitment to professional development and the club industry, recognized as the hallmark of professionalism in club management. To receive the CCM designation, one must invest time in specified requirements including more than 300 hours of education, attend at least one World Conference on Club Management, and maintain activity within their local chapter. After these conditions have been met, the individual must pass the CCM Exam, covering all ten competencies of club management. Attainment of the CCM title shows a long-term commitment to professional development and club management. Approximately one-third of club management professionals hold this designation.

The Club Management Association of America extends its sincere congratulations to these newly certified professionals and encourages them to continue their professional development in the future. For more information on the CCM designation and requirements, please visit www.cmaa.org/Certification.aspx.
