New self-paced online certification equips golf sales reps with skills in retail math, digital marketing, sales technology, and negotiation
PHOENIX, Ariz. — The National Golf Sales Rep Association (NGSA) today announced the launch of the Certified Golf Sales Representative Program, a new self-paced online certification designed to give golf industry sales representatives a consistent, professional standard of training across every core skill their role demands.
The program was developed to address a gap NGSA has long observed in the golf retail industry: while sales reps are responsible for representing brands, managing complex buyer relationships, and driving revenue across a wide range of retail channels, few standardized training resources exist to prepare them for the job. The Certified Golf Sales Representative Program is built to close that gap.
“Reps are the front line between golf brands and the retailers who put product on the shelf, and until now there hasn’t been a real professional credential for that role,” said Phil Immordino of NGSA. “This program gives reps — new and experienced — a structured way to build and prove the skills buyers actually expect from them today, from retail math to social media to running a demo day. We’re proud to bring that standard to the industry.”
Delivered entirely online and self-paced, the program is organized into eight core modules covering the full range of skills a modern golf sales rep needs:
- Golf Industry Foundations & the Sales Rep Role
- Strategic Social Media & Email Marketing
- Sales Technology & Efficiency Tools
- Relationship Building & Consultative Selling
- Buyer Insights, Retail Math & Assortment Strategy
- Event Sales: Demo Days & Trunk Shows
- Negotiation & Objection Handling
- Professional Standards, Ethics & Territory Management
Each module combines short video lessons, applied exercises, and a knowledge check. Participants finish the program with a capstone project — a working territory growth plan built from each module’s exercises — and a 50-question certification exam. A passing score of 80% or higher earns the “Certified Golf Sales Rep” credential, a digital certificate, and a LinkedIn credential badge.

The program is priced at $299 per participant, with group rates available for brands and rep agencies certifying multiple reps at once: $250 per person for groups of 10–20, $199 per person for groups of 20–50, and custom pricing for larger teams. Certified participants can renew annually to maintain their credential and gain access to updated content.
“Whether someone is six months into the job or fifteen years in, this program meets them where they are,” Immordino added. “For brands and agencies, it’s also a way to bring every rep on the team up to the same standard, without building that training in-house.”
The Certified Golf Sales Representative Program is available now through NGSA. Interested reps, agencies, and brands can contact NGSA directly for enrollment information.
