Two-Day Camp in Advance of Toyota Tour Cup Q School Event, Nov. 12-13
LOS ANGELES, CA – College Golf Experience (CGX), a college golf education program with exclusive endorsement from the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA), announces it has partnered with the Southern California PGA Junior Tour to host a Preview Camp prior to the SCPGA Toyota Tour Cup Q School at The Golf Club at Rancho California in Murietta, CA. The camp is open to all juniors, even if they are not qualifying for the Toyota Tour Cup.
The SCPGA Toyota Tour Cup Q School Preview Camp will be held November 12-13, 2022, at The Golf Club at Rancho California in Murietta, CA. Juniors and their parents will engage with top Southern California men’s and women’s college golf coaches and programs including: UCLA Men’s Assistant Coach Patrick Murphy, San Diego St. Men’s Associate Head Coach Evan Emerick, USC Women’s Assistant Golf Coach Tiffany Joh, San Diego St. Women’s Head Coach Lauren Dobashi, and Loyola Marymount Men’s Head Coach Jason D’Amore.
Players at the camp will participate in a simulated college golf practice and tournament on the tournament course both days while engaging with the college golf coaches. Juniors and their parents will also attend education seminars led by the coaches on college golf, the recruiting process, course management and strategy, along with experiencing real-time feedback on their games via skill assessments and challenges similar to what coaches work on with their teams. All that will help them on their path to college golf.
“The Toyota Tour Cup is one of the most prestigious regional junior golf tours. To provide an opportunity for juniors to attend a camp that will help them qualify for the tour, while giving them access to and continuous college coach engagement is really exciting for us,” said Joshua Jacobs, CEO of College Golf Experience. “When you couple the coach accessibility with education about college golf and the path to get there, the experience becomes invaluable to players and parents.”
“CGX camps with college coaches are vital to the education of our junior tour players and their parents. The opportunity for our junior tour members to engage with college coaches on the tournament course provides immense value for our players as they look to take the next step in their junior golf career,” said Nikki Gatch, Assistant Executive Director / COO of the Southern California PGA.
