RIDGELAND, MS… SkyGolf®, maker of SkyCaddie®, the most-trusted rangefinders in golf, announces Clark Dennis used his SkyCaddie GPS Tour Book to dominate the latest Legends Tour event. In addition, nine of the top nine finishers and ties used a SkyCaddie in the Costa Navarino Legends Tour Trophy 2024 in Greece.
With three consecutive rounds of 66 and only a single dropped shot all week, the 58-year-old Texan sealed victory with a 20-foot putt for birdie on the final hole, winning by four shots over Australia’s Scott Hend to claim his sixth Legends Tour win.
After Peter Baker won last month’s Barbados Legends hosted by Ian Woosnam tournament, Clark Dennis’s victory means that this season’s first two core Legends Tour events have been won by SkyCaddie GPS users.
Following his win in Greece, Dennis said: “With a SkyCaddie I could play a golf course blind if I had to – it is so detailed and shows me the whole golf course.
“I used it at Costa Navarino last weekend, it’s a great device.”
Dennis continued: “The SkyCaddie helps especially on layups, or if I hit it offline a little bit I can point to a point where I want the ball to end up and I know exactly what the distance is from there.
“It really helps me not only in regular tournaments but also if I’m doing a qualifier in the US on the Champions Tour. I don’t have to buy a yardage book … I just show up, and I’ve got the SkyCaddie, ready to use.”
Dennis also praised the highly-rated Greek golf resort at Costa Navarino: “It is an amazing place, the views, the golf courses look great, the accommodations are fantastic – and having Philip my son there on the bag for his third win was really fun!”
Another SkyCaddie user made a spectacular start in Greece: Rob Coles, who won May’s 2024 Senior PGA Professional Championship at Moor Park, shot a 60 in his opening round, using his SkyCaddie SX550 Tour Book on his way to a strong 7th-place finish.
And a brand-new SkyCaddie convert, Mikael Lundberg, shot 61 in his opening round, ultimately finishing in a tie for third with fellow SkyCaddie users Greg Owen and James Kingston.
SkyCaddie’s on-foot mapping expert Steve Winstone visited Greece to survey both of the Costa Navarino golf courses – The Bay and The Olympic – in May 2024.
SkyCaddie’s James Holmes said: “Time and again, experienced players on the world’s most prestigious Tour which allows Distance Measuring Devices are turning to SkyCaddie GPS for their yardages during competitive play.
“You simply cannot get a stronger endorsement of the value which a SkyCaddie brings to your round of golf – at any level.”
