Monterey, Calif. – The Club at Pasadera in Monterey, Calif. is pleased to welcome Brad Coleman as the private club’s new golf course superintendent. In his new position, Coleman will oversee agronomic maintenance of The Club at Pasadera’s 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature Design golf course and the club’s practice facilities. Coleman became a member of The Club at Pasadera 18-months ago and brings a unique member perspective to his new position.
Coleman has 25 years of Northern California golf course management experience. He now leads The Club at Pasadera team after three years as golf course superintendent at San Jose Country Club. Prior to San Jose Country Club, he worked for the Pebble Beach Company as assistant superintendent at Spyglass Hill, a tenure that was preceded by a stint at Del Monte Golf Course in Monterey. He has also served on the agronomy teams of courses in Arizona, Colorado and in his native Ohio.
“Brad’s passion for the game of golf, combined with his hands-on Monterey Peninsula agronomy experience, set him apart,” said The Club at Pasadera General Manager and COO, Kurt Burmeister. “He has a proven track record of producing superior playing conditions, building a team environment and connecting with members.”
Coleman is a graduate of Ohio State University’s Agricultural Technical Institute with an Associate’s Degree in Turfgrass Management. He is well versed in water management, strategic planning and hosting both PGA TOUR and USGA tournaments. His professional experience includes training staff in all aspects of golf course improvement and maintenance.
“As an avid golfer and member here for the past 18 months, I’ve been able to see this course the way the golfers see it and to make agronomic decisions based on playability, aesthetics, and long-term sustainability,” said Coleman. “I’d like to express my appreciation to management and members for their commitment to me, our team, and this golf course.”
