The Clubs of Stonebridge Ranch Continue Comprehensive Golf Reinvestment Project

October 7, 2026

Updated No. 1 course welcomes back members; part of reimagination of iconic Texas course

McKINNEY, TX. – Invited Clubs, the worldwide leader in private clubs, is continuing its extensive, multi-year series of renovations to The Hills Course at The Clubs of Stonebridge Ranch. The reopening of the No. 1 course is the latest in a series of ongoing, multi-million dollar renovations focused on a comprehensive revitalization of The Clubs of Stonebridge Ranch’s three courses spanning the past two years.

The reinvigorated No. 1 course, a nine-hole layout, was designed by World Golf Hall of Famer and 21-time PGA TOUR champion Lanny Wadkins and renowned golf course designer Kurt Bowman reopened to members on Oct. 3.

“The renovations at The Clubs of Stonebridge Ranch usher in a new era for one of Texas’s finest courses,” said David Pillsbury, CEO of Invited Clubs. “We appreciate the hard work and vision of Lanny Wadkins and Kurt Bowman, as well as the patience of our members, as we established a new standard for what our golf courses can be for our clubs, enhancing an already championship-level layout in a way that will delight our members.”

Across three phases, Invited Clubs and The Clubs of Stonebridge Ranch are focusing on revamping its 27 holes of golf. Renovations at Course No. 1 placed an emphasis on improving the playability of the course while also enhancing its visibility and sightlines.

Hole No. 2, for instance, now features a redesigned green system to allow run up shots and easier transitions to supporting mounds in addition to the planting of trees to block views of Lake Forest Drive. Fairway bunkers on No. 6 were combined and shifted for visibility and better turf conditions, while the No. 9 green shifted left and was lowered for better fairway visibility.

Stonebridge golf carts will be used exclusively under cart-path-only requirements to allow the new turf to continue to be established, and the course will likely remain cart-path-only through the spring.

Earlier, Wadkins and Bowman completed extensive renovations to Course No. 2, including recontoured bunkers, redesigned green complexes featuring G12 Championship Bermuda grass, laser-leveled tees and improved fairways, all of which elevated gameplay. Renovations to the bunkers at Course No. 3 get underway before the end of the year.

The course updates are part of Invited’s ongoing multi-million dollar reinvestment campaign into its clubs across the country. The changes complement The Clubs of Stonebridge Ranch’s other amenities including a racquet sports complex, a state-of-the-art fitness center, world-class dining at Pete’s and the Twenty-8 Grille, and a comprehensive, engaging slate of social programming.
