Tony D’Errico, CCM, CCE, Named 2019 Club Executive of the Year
Club Management magazine has named Tony D’Errico, CCM, CCE, the 2019 Club Executive of the Year. A 26-year member of the Club Management Association of America (CMAA), D’Errico currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer of the Quail West Foundation in Naples, FL, which includes the Golf & Country Club and the Homeowners Association.
Quail West Foundation President Rolla P. Huff explains “In the three short years since Tony’s arrival, Quail West has become the preferred residential country club community and workplace in Southwest Florida. Tony provided senior management oversight to a three-year, $34 million investment that was completed in 2018. During that time period, our membership has doubled, and more importantly, our member engagement has increased exponentially in every part of the club.”
D’Errico has more than 27 years of experience in the club industry. Prior to joining Quail West three years ago, he served as the General Manager/Chief Operating Officer of Westwood Country Club in St. Louis, MO, from 1999 to 2016. His previous experiences included General Manager & COO roles with Champion Hills Club/POA in Hendersonville, NC, and Riverwood Golf Club in Port Charlotte, FL.
Annually, Club Management recognizes the best in club leadership with the Club Executive of the Year Award. Created in 1985 and originally known as the Club Manager of the Year, this prestigious honor is presented to the club executive who most embodies the values, vision, and professionalism of CMAA. Nominations are accepted in early fall, and selections are made by a committee of club management professionals including past recipients.
In 2008, the award was re-titled to mirror the evolution of the club management profession. D’Errico is the 34th club executive to be honored through this award. The complete list is available at cmaa.org/ceoy.
D’Errico will be featured in the 2020 January/February issue of Club Management magazine, profiled in the December 2019 edition of the Let’s Talk Club Management Podcast, and honored at the CMAA 2020 World Conference and Club Business Expo in Grapevine, TX.
