Brentwood, Tenn. – Softspikes® was once again on top at The PGA Tour’s Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches, with the winner securing a maiden tour title wearing a combination of Tour Flex Pro and ProStinger spikes in his FootJoy Traditions golf shoes. In doing so he becomes the 8th consecutive player to win on tour this year wearing spikes.
After a weather delay on Sunday pushed the final round into Monday, the winner completed his final nine holes in 2-under par to claim a three-stroke victory. The win secures him entry into the remaining Signature Events this season, and a spot in the 2024 Masters and PGA Championship. With 81% of the field at the PGA National Resort choosing to compete in replaceable spikes it was another strong week for spikes.
On the LPGA Tour it was another win for Tour Flex Pro at The HSBC Women’s World Championship, with the winner storming to victory wearing a combination of Tour Flex Pro and Tornado spikes in her Nike Victory Tour 3.0 golf shoes.
On The DP World Tour and Korn Ferry Tour there were also wins at The SDC Championship and Argentina Open, with both players wearing Pulsar, the world’s most worn replaceable spike, in their FootJoy golf shoes.
Commenting on the four-win weekend, Joe Henderson, President, Softspikes said, “To not only notch our 8th win of the PGA Tour season, but to also have the winners of all four major golfing events this past weekend triumph wearing spikes, clearly shows the performance advantages that wearing replaceable traction delivers.”
Tour players change grips and traction regularly based on course conditions, but amateur golfers rarely think about the impact wearing spikes has on consistency and distance. To achieve optimal performance benefits, golfers should be switching up their spikes every 15 rounds.
