NJPGA and LPGA Professionals to Host On-Site Golf Clinic for Kids on Saturday, May 13th from 1:30 – 3:30 on Driving Range at Upper Montclair CC
Clifton, NJ, – The Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) today announced that general admission tickets for Wednesday, May 10th, Pro-Am Day at the Cognizant Founders Cup, will be FREE of charge, courtesy of the New Jersey Golf Foundation (NJGF), the charitable arm of the New Jersey PGA Section. The Cognizant Founders Cup will take place from May 10th-14th at Upper Montclair Country Club in Clifton, NJ.
Wednesday, May 10th marks the first day of tournament week with the gates open to the public for the Pro-Am, as the world’s best professional golfers prepare to compete for a $3 million purse, one of the largest LPGA Tour event purses outside the majors and the CME Group Tour Championship.
Gates open at 6:45am and close at 6:30pm, as the Pro-Am morning wave tees off from 7am – 9am, with the afternoon wave from 12:00pm – 1:50pm. Each respective group will feature one LPGA TOUR professional – competing in the tournament – on the front 9 with a second LPGA TOUR professional joining the group on the back 9, as golf fans will have an opportunity to get close to the action.

On Saturday, May 13, the NJGF will host a complimentary golf skills clinic from 1:30pm- 3:30pm on the driving range, where New Jersey PGA and LPGA Professionals will be on-site to provide expert golf instruction to girls and boys in attendance.
“The LPGA Cognizant Founders Cup is a terrific event that honors the past, present and future of the game,” said Chris Hunt, Executive Director, NJGF. “We are thrilled to align with the LPGA and provide all guests with access to Pro-Am Day at no cost, while also hosting a clinic on Saturday of tournament week enabling local kids to learn the game from PGA and LPGA Professionals.”

General admission tickets, providing access to the tournament grounds any day Thursday through Sunday are $45, with a weekly 5-day pass available for $125. Hospitality packages, which begin at $100 per day, include access to on-course hospitality and an assortment of food and beverage options.
Juniors 17 and under receive free general admission, and active and retired Military can show their ID at the gate which gives them access to a free (accompanying guests not included) grounds pass on that given day.
Upper Montclair Country Club is one of only a few country clubs worldwide known to have hosted tournaments for all three professional golf tours, including the LPGA in 1979 & 1980, 1983 & 1984, and 2007-2009. Long considered one of NJ’s premier golf clubs, this legendary A.W. Tillinghast golf course design underwent a major renovation in the 1950s, directed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr., transforming Upper Montclair Country Club into its present 27-hole Championship layout. The acclaimed venue, which has hosted hundreds of the world’s best players over many decades, will challenge an elite field of LPGA TOUR golfers.
