A SEASON CUT SHORT! ADVICE FROM GOLF’S TOP COLLEGE COACHES PODCAST OFFERS GUIDANCE TO ASPIRING COLLEGE GOLFERS
RIDGEFIELD, Conn. – In the latest episode (#8) of the Five Under with Roger Knick podcast (https://thegolfperformancecenter.com/5-under-with-roger-knick/)
PGA Professional Roger Knick is joined by three top college golf coaches – Doug Holub from Fairfield University, Rich Mueller from Columbia University and Andy Crabtree from Oklahoma City University. Knick and the coaches discuss the shortened college golf season and the implications of a recruiting period without tournaments and campus visits. The podcast can be heard on Spotify, iTunes, Google Podcasts and iHeart Radio.
Knick, founder of The Golf Performance Center, the Junior Golf Hub (JGH) and Ethan Allen Prep, regularly provides juniors and their parents with information on how to maximize their time during the current Pandemic and move forward with the college recruiting process.
“As the most trusted resource for junior golfers in terms of college preparation and recruitment, we are excited to provide the wisdom and insight of three of the best coaches in college golf,” said Knick. “With college seniors provided with the opportunity for one more season of golf, we thought it was important to provide high school golfers with as much knowledge as possible as they enter perhaps the most difficult and challenging transition in their young careers.”
Rick Dowling, Customer Success Manager for the Junior Golf Hub, joins the podcast to provide insight into what the pandemic means for aspiring junior golfers. If you’re a high school senior or rising senior in high school with hopes of playing college golf, you can tune in for guidance and uplifting advice to make the best of a bad situation.
In addition to his role with the JGH, Dowling is a competitive golfer and coach. He was a four-year member and two-time captain of the Fairfield University (Conn.) Men’s Division-I Golf Team. He was an assistant coach for the Men’s and women’s teams in 2016 and is the current 2017 Connecticut State Amateur Golf Champion.
Originally from Danville, Virginia, Knick is a 1989 graduate of Elon University. He is a Sports Performance Specialist, having spent over 20 years developing and refining his knowledge and practical application of coaching. He is a Class-A PGA Professional, TPI Level III and K-Motion Biomechanics certified instructor.
Knick has worked with aspiring high school and collegiate athletes, as well as PGA, LPGA, NHL, MLB, NBA and NFL players. His ability to coach many different levels is due to his diverse background in sports and the understanding that “function dictates form.” As a former division one athlete and professional athlete, he has a deep understanding of his clients’ goals, objectives and how to work with them to make it happen.
