Pleasant Hill, Calif. – Members of Contra Costa Country Club in Pleasant Hill, Calif. got an early jump on Breast Cancer Awareness Month, raising more than $55,000 for PLAY for P.I.N.K.®, a national charity funding breast cancer research, through a September 1st charity golf tournament. The $55,000 donation marks a 62 percent increase over the Club’s 2022 donation. Since 2012, Contra Costa Country Club has raised $138,500 for breast cancer research and awareness.
Contra Costa Country Club’s PLAY for P.I.N.K. event included a day full of golf, a silent auction, a live auction, a mystery wine wall, dinner and awards. Nearly 150 Members and guests participated in the golf tournament, with 185 attending the dinner and awards ceremony. More than $15,000 was raised through the event’s silent auction and $18,900 from the live auction.
PLAY for P.I.N.K. (Prevention, Immediate diagnosis, New technology, Knowledge) supports a nationwide network of volunteers who raise money for breast cancer research through sporting and lifestyle events to speed advances in prevention, detection, treatment and survivorship. PLAY for P.I.N.K. donates 100 percent of its proceeds to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
“It was an honor and privilege to work on an event that impacts so many of our lives,” said 2023 Contra Costa Play for Pink Committee members Andrea Nakagaki, Danita Stevens and Joan Weinstein. “The CCCC staff, from General Manager Ryan Ott to our kitchen staff, was as dedicated and committed to this event as we were. We couldn’t have surpassed our donation goal of $50,000 had it not been for the overwhelming generosity of staff and Members. This event made us proud to be representing CCCC. The moments throughout the event were infectious and has sparked enthusiasm for next year’s event!”

About Contra Costa Country Club
Offering one of the finest and purest tests of golf in Northern California, Contra Costa Country Club provides a unique environment that is both family-friendly and socially enriching. The club has golfers of all skill levels with beginning players able to quickly learn and improve, while also challenging some of the Bay Area’s better players. The club’s 18-hole golf course was redesigned by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. in 2014-15, creating a modern experience while still fully respecting the 1925 original intent of architect A. Vernon Macan. Meandering through 145 acres of oak, eucalyptus and redwood, the course is framed by dramatic mountain and valley views. Remaining as a long-standing initiative, Contra Costa continues to utilize reclaimed water when irrigating the golf course.
Contra Costa offers a variety of programs available for men, women, seniors, and junior golfers alike. Membership at the club truly offers a priceless investment for a lifetime of enjoyment for members and their entire families. The cornerstone of Contra Costa is the spacious clubhouse; offering spectacular views from atop an oak-shaded knoll with a beautiful pool, pool house and recreation area located nearby.
