Golf Magazine ranks three Tom Doak course designs among the top five of its 50 greatest golf course in the past 50 years ranking. The Doak courses honored are Pacific Dunes in Bandon, Ore. (No. 2); Cape Kidnappers, Hawkes Bay, New Zealand (No. 4); and Barnbougle Dunes, Bridport, Australia (No. 5).

Willow Crest Golf Club at the Oak Brook Hills Marriott Resort in Oak Brook, Ill., will host its second Family Golf Festival on Sunday, Sept. 20. Attendees can enjoy an afternoon of free golf activities, including the opportunity to play golf from designated PGA Family Friendly tees.

St. Andrews Links Trust announces that green fees for its courses in St. Andrews, Scotland, will be held at the same rate for 2010. The high season green fee for the Old Course will remain at £130 and the New and Jubilee courses at £65. The Eden will be £40, the Strathtyrum £25 and the Balgove £12. The Castle Course will be £120.

Bayonet and Black Horse Golf Club in Seaside, Calif., announces its new stay-and-play packages with Inns by the Sea, the area’s collection of boutique hotel properties. The packages, ranging from $249 to $389 per night, per golfer, offer several options at a variety of price points.

Hawk’s Landing Golf Club in Orlando, Fla., will participate in the third Patriot Golf Day, a joint initiative of the PGA of America and the U.S. Golf Association. Hawk’s Landing will request at least an additional $1 for each green fee that is processed Sept. 4-7.

Architect Tom Doak‘s Renaissance Golf Design prepares for its first design in Asia. The course, to be built on the resort island of Hainan, has a temporary working title of “The Island Club” and construction is scheduled to start late this fall. The opening is projected for 2010.
