Brad Turner, Executive Director of the College of Golf at Keiser University, shares a straightforward method for creating good golf posture. In this video, Brad walks viewers through a simple step-by-step process to achieve proper alignment and positioning for an effective golf swing.
Starting with your feet hip to shoulder-width apart, Brad explains how to engage your shoulder blades by pinching them back, keeping your head upright, and letting your arms hang naturally. He then introduces the concept of “bowing to the sensei,” a respectful movement that involves maintaining a straight back and bending forward at the hips while keeping your eyes forward. Adding a slight knee flex completes the posture setup, positioning your arms to hang naturally and your body ready for the swing.
Brad emphasizes avoiding slumping or rounding the back, a common issue among higher-handicap golfers. By practicing this simple routine, you can establish solid posture and build better fundamentals for your golf game.
