A Former Sportsbook Head Trader, Croucher will Share Expertise on All Things Sports Betting Across NBC Sports, Including Golf Analysis
STAMFORD, Conn. – Jay Croucher, who has built a strong betting following in the U.S. as head of trading for PointsBet, has joined NBC Sports full time as a betting analyst.
As lead betting analyst, Croucher will share his expertise on all things sports betting, from futures to finding value in the daily and weekly markets across all sports, including golf. He will contribute to GOLF Channel’s signature news shows, including Golf Today, Golf Central and Live From, as well as preview shows presented on GOLF Channel’s YouTube page prior to major golf events.
Croucher made his first official appearance today as co-host of Bet the Edge, NBC Sports EDGE’s daily sports betting podcast, live at 10:45 a.m. ET on the NFL on NBC YouTube channel and available for download on all major podcast platforms. In addition to Bet the Edge, he regularly joins Matthew Berry as a co-host of Fantasy Football Happy Hour with Matthew Berry, weekdays at Noon ET on Peacock and Fantasy Football Pregame with Matthew Berry, Sundays at 11 a.m. ET on Peacock.
“We’re excited to add an analyst with Jay’s credentials as a former head trader of a sportsbook,” said NBC Sports Executive Producer Sam Flood. “His perspective in breaking down betting lines will help us tell the story of each game from a unique angle.”
Croucher has become a familiar contributor on NBC Sports EDGE shows and podcasts, joining frequently as part of NBC Sports’ strategic partnership with PointsBet. A native of Australia, Croucher moved to the U.S. in 2019, halfway through his five-year tenure as head of trading for PointsBet. Previously, he worked in Australia as a lawyer. Along with fantasy sports commentator and industry pioneer Berry, who joined NBC Sports in August, Croucher will help continue to bolster the burgeoning betting and gaming area within the NBC Sports Next subdivision.
“NBC has been the leader in innovating with betting content integrations on U.S. television, so when the opportunity arose to join the team, it was an easy choice,” Croucher said. “Sports betting is my language. I believe that it enhances our understanding of the sports we love and will continue to grow and add another compelling layer to sports broadcasts, and I can’t wait to be a part of that across NBC’s platforms.”
