Clarke Narrates His Own Story Across Five Episodes, From His Roots in Northern Ireland to Major Championship Success
ORLANDO, Fla. – Darren Clarke’s Sunday victory at the 2022 Senior Open was yet another milestone in the Northern Irishman’s life and career as one of the most beloved players in professional golf – a lifetime captured in the latest season of My Roots, now streaming exclusively on NBC Sports Next’s GolfPass.
Across five episodes, Clarke recounts growing up amid “The Troubles” of Northern Ireland in the 1970s and the perspectives it provided, which set him on his way to an eventual professional golfing career. My Roots reveals how Clarke’s golfing journey began, his start as a junior golfer and the challenges he faced when he arrived in the U.S. to play college golf at Wake Forest University. The series also follows Clarke’s professional career and covers his relationship with Tiger Woods, his reputation as a partier, his major championship victories, as well as the compelling storylines that always surrounded his play at the Ryder Cup, including the drama at the K Club in 2016 following the death of his first wife to cancer.
