BUFFALO, NY – OnCore Golf is excited to announce the recent win from Dave Scialabba at the Long Island Senior Amateur Championship (October 23, 2020). Scialabba has become a devoted fan of OnCore Golf over the past two years and has been finding great success on the course during the 2020 season with OnCore’s VERO X1 balls.
Starting his round, Scialabba was three strokes behind the lead and knew he had some work to do after a shaky bogey on a par-5 (2nd hole). He regrouped and played solid golf making par on the next nine holes and then finding himself in the lead.
“I knew I had a shot on winning this tournament, but it was completely a back and forth scenario. I had a slight mistake on the 12th hole which cost me a stroke and brought me back into a tie for first place,” states Scialabba. “The final six holes we were neck to neck and it came down to the 18th which I made par to win by one stroke.”
Wining the Long Island Senior Amateur Championship was a continuation of Scialabba’s success while using the VERO X1. He also finished on-top at the 70th MGA Father and Son Championship (in August) at Echo Lake and earned enough top-10 and top-5 finishes to earn him the 2020 Long Island Senior Player of the Year.
“Dave has been a great friend of the company, offering unbiased advice on how all of our golf balls perform. As an outstanding amateur and frequent golfer, his ability to identify the strengths and weaknesses of our offerings has been very helpful. And he is an unabashed cheerleader for the VERO X1 which he considers to be the unqualified best ball in the game today,” commented Keith Blakely, OnCore Golf’s CEO.
“In my forty years of playing tournament golf – thirty nine of which were with a competitor’s ball – this has been by FAR my best tournament golf season. Switching to the VERO X1 has been amazing,” states Scialabba.
Be like Dave and win more tournaments by switching to the VERO X1.
